The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. Austin Peay is equally horrible, and they don't have any D1 talent. One could argue that the majority of Vandys players aren't D1 talent, so that may even out the playing field some. I believe Vandy will win one game next season. They may can sneak out a win vs. MTSU, WKU, or Houston though. If they somehow manage to win 3 games or more, I'll personally be amazed.

Honestly, I don't either after looking at their season last year. Getting blown out by 40+ to Memphis, East Illinois, Illinois St, and Jacksonville St....ouch.

Oh yeah, no doubts in my mind they will travel well. I just don't think the fan base is large enough to fill Vandys tiny stadium. The "home crowd" will probably be WKU fans. They will have more fans in the stadium than Vandy does. Go Hilltoppers!

A lot depnds on how many students come down. WKU is now the 2nd largest university in the state and has been for a few years, so the numbers are there just a matter of them showing up.

You don't what? Think AP will beat Vandy? Only a fool would really expect AP to beat Vandy. That game won't even be close. AP is horrible, the difference is they are horrible on the D2 level. Vandy will have to much "talent" and too many "athletes" for AP to make it a competitive game. Man it just felt so wrong typing out that last sentence, haha.

Since they are playing a SEC team, and due to the proximity to the WKU campus, I could see this being their best showing on the road as far as fan attendance goes. I would love for them to completely fill the stadium, but I just don't think they will. I hope I am wrong, I really do. I'm not trying to argue with you, it's just my personal opinion. I am wrong lot's of times, but I just don't see it happening for WKU. This will also be the first game of the season for Vandy. They won't yet know they still suck horrendously. They might actually have a better turn out than we all expect.

I will pee on your parade if I want too, dawg.

Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

I agree it won't be UT-esque where there's 30k + in there. 10-15k is definitely acceptable and will at least embarrass Vandy's fanbase by allowing their stadium to be a neutral site game at worse.

I wouldn't dare call it rain. I'd tell ya straight up what it was.

Yeah 10-15k is a good number with all things considered. It would be extremely embarrassing to have a mid major show up in your stadium, and not only beat you, but out number you fan wise too.

WKU has alot of students. Its like 60 miles from Nashville and its a great place for WKU fans to go for the weekend. Its not like Vandy has a much bigger stadium than WKU. If they bring 10-12k that will look pretty large in Vanderbilt Stadium. Thats like a 1/3 of the crowd. The Toppers will pull it off.

Re: First Commit?
Wednesday at 10:48 PM
It's going to be tough to get a bunch of early commits. Last year was tough because recruits wanted to see how Mason's team performed on the field. This year will be tough because they saw how Mason's team performed on the field. Hopefully, he exceeds expectations this year.

Ala Vandymania.

My wife and I were at Bridgestone Arena last night to watch our beloved Vols. It just so happened that we got seats directly in front of the 4 Vandy fans in the entire building. With that said, I've never heard such bitterness coming from fans than those people. The entire game they were trying to do the WPS cheer. Always berating our players. By the end of the game, they said "payback is a b****" when Josh fouled out. I politely turned around and said that I didn't know Arkansas could payback TN for beating your pathetic team. I can't wait to hang a half a hundred on them this fall.

Vandy fans are pros at living vicariously through other teams. They always gloat when some other team beats UT. It's really pathetic.

Observational humor on my part. Not intended trolling.

I love me a rivalry, but don't understand why UTK fans are obsessed about Vandy, the bottomfeeder of the conference.

Because they beat us two years in a row in football.
