From what I remember, didn't Vandy lower the academic standards to somewhat close to the SEC average? I thought that was one of Franklin's big accomplishments.

Does Vandy even have any EEs this year? Or are they just holding open tryouts and trying to add more warm bodies to the team?

Their class isn't very good and it's still 35 spots higher than Florida.

So... that's hilarious.

Yeah, probably wouldn't take much. A couple of good recruits can bump you fast, especially that far down the list. Let's just hope the recruits see how bad their incoming class has been and stay away. Depends whether they all start joining because they believe they can be the ones to get Florida back on track or if they see how little talent is coming in and think they'll spend their career losing even if Florida is a great football program. Just because you know a school has had a good football program in the past, doesn't mean you're guaranteed success during your time there. Let's hope recruits feed off that, see the talent on the team has been declining and the current incoming class looks like a weak foundation if you want to win during your college career.

I think I know what happened and why Vanderbilt was so bad this season(aside from being Vanderbilt). They meant to hire Derrick Mason, not Derek Mason.

They figured Derrick knows the Nashville area well and and would be the perfect guy to sell recruits on coming to play in Nashville. The silly receptionist didn't know how to spell his name though and ended up giving the AD the wrong number. Derek Mason thought it was weird Vanderbilt's AD wanted to talk about Titans football but he figured the AD was just a fan since he lives in Nashville. You'd think though when they finally met face to face that Vanderbilt brass would recognize it's the wrong Derek Mason. Nope, they just thought Derrick Mason had grown a little bit of hair and thus, Vanderbilt ended up with the wrong Derek Mason. They just don't have the heart to tell Derek Mason that hiring him was a mistake.

True story.

Vandy has another interesting schedule in 2016. There is still one game to be added and it'll probably be a creampuff.

We schedule home and homes with teams like Oregon and Oklahoma and they schedule Western Kentucky.

Someone on Vandymania asked if they have any early enrollees and someone responded with the name of one recruit. That's the end of the thread concerning the question at hand. Classic Vandy.

Wonder if that single early entry recruit knows that one is the loneliest number? He'll see. And not just because he'll be the only incoming freshman on campus, but because there will only be one fan watching when they play home games. The one fan being Derek Mason's wife.
