The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

There are multiple tickets for UMass, Charleston Southern and Old Dominion on StubHub for $7-$9 each. The SEC games are a little higher on average, about face value starting point. The Tennessee game has 1,600 tickets left but the starting price is $64 each, which tells me the orange fans are grabbing them up and Vandy fans are taking advantage of the profit.

Any old timers on this board remember when UT tickets were only $7-9 a piece?

I'm not old enough to remember $7-$9 but when I first started getting season tickets in the mid 80's they were right at $144.00 each for lower level with no donation required.

Actually, my parents and I saw UT vs Miss St, in Memphis in'74 or'75(?). We had Holloway and Sievers playing, and ended up losing that day. I believe tickets were either $7.00 or 9.00 ish. That was my first UT game.

I can still remember my grandfather ( poor farmer) telling my dad " I can't believe y'all would blow that kind of money to sit in a big crowd, and watch a bunch of fellas run around and chase a danged ball! " LOL.

That said, i will give him this much; he obviously enjoys mercilessly blasting Tennessee fans, which is great-- however, I'm not going to go out of my way to applaud him for something I myself (and pretty much all of us here) have been doing since the dawn of existence; in short, I agree 100% that UT as a whole sucks, but big deal.

Everyone with human brain understands that much across the entire US of A.

That's a quote on Finnebaum.

I like the last part of his post where he claims everyone in the U.S. believes Tennessee sucks. He must be referring to the last few years and not the program in general, because normally people across the country recognize Tennessee as a top 25 program. Vandy on the other hand, they're universally recognized as the worst program in a power 5 conference. Even during their recent "success"(of beating cupcakes), they were still recognized as the most pathetic program from a major conference, in existence.

Seriously, they dropped Northwestern because of how difficult Northwestern is. Funny, cause outside of Fitzgerald, their program is rather pitiful and probably on par with the 'whores. Vandy is delusional for believing they'll ever be relevant and can compete in the SEC when they can't even compete with Northwestern. They better stick to Wake Forest and Washington State. Who am I kidding... they better stick to Temple. Wait... Chattanooga? Yeah, Chattanooga. They might have a real chance there. Maybe.

I was saying this when this first came up. Everyone on here is dillusional. We've had some moderate success the past few years and everyone wants to jump on the "we've made it" bandwagon when in reality we aren't anywhere close. Even our best teams the last few years would've been beat badly by Stanford. We aren't anywhere near regularly having anything but cupcakes in the OOC schedule.

A Vanderbilt fan with common sense. Who knew that existed? Better yet, who knew a Vanderbilt fan existed at all?

Would there not have been a performance clause in Mason's contract? There must be a clause that stipulates if Mason falls short of certain targets (like scoring points, for example), he can be terminated with a much smaller buyout. Someone in legal please tell me this is plausible; I'm hanging on by a thread of hope here.

Dude thinks he's playing NCAA football.

I'm actually considering walking over to their game against UMass on Saturday and then leaving when UGA-USCe comes on.

I want to witness their suckiness in person before we play them in November.

As a reminder, Northwestern has actually been ranked during the season a couple of times. Not a season ending ranking.

Just sayin...

Looking for a clip with Mason and Rivers arguing and stumbled upon this so I'll just leave it here SIAP

He also says that getting crushed by Ole Miss in their home city is not something they are used to lol.
