The Liberal Argument for a Higher Minimum Wage

Only 20% make minimum wage, and they were already at 15 dollars an hour.

Like has been said, big companies dont mind the wage increase. They can absorb it or cut loose and automate.
And their average hourly wage is $24 an hour.

My company should make the brave decision and get woke and issue a statement that they will raise their minimum wage to $16 an hour also.

Nobody at my place makes anywhere near that low a wage.

Our employee rule of thumb back in day was report enough tips to get you to at least minimum wage per hour. I suspect our GM knew that was the worker's approach but they never said anything.
Meh, you can't get away with that in a lot of places that do tip share now. The tips are determined by total ticket sales. So you have to pay a certain percentage towards tips no matter if you made that minimum amount or not, meaning there are instances where you could actually lose money working if the tips are not good enough.

But if congress penalizes a business for not paying 15 dollars an hour, how is that going to work with an kiosk??🤔🤔
