If I did, my main focus would be stealing recruits from UT, UF and Bama. Even if they never played, UT, UF and Bama would never get the benefit of their skills. Kind of like UGA is doing now.

True. They just did what they did. Did to perfection, and executed on every down, like it was their last. A team. But, even they had their limitations.

I will not pin all my hopes on this damn game. Conversely, I will not predict huge wins or losses, based on today's game.

Desire

This is the time for the Vols to step up. I believe the coaches have them ready. They have to create opportunities and limit their mistakes. We have had good teams that could not limit better teams and climb over them. I believe this team has that potential. Defense has leadership at each level. They need a leader on offense at a skill position. Someone must step up.

Over 20+ years you would think Tennessee would just luck up and beat a top 5 team. We see legit crap teams beat good to even great teams every year.....yet somehow Tennessee can’t? Tennessee is always “improving”......their “building”......their “getting there”.......at some point they are going to have to win.....no excuses.....at some point it will be a must win.

Enough of that.....but for now I’m hopeful.

You may be placing too much faith in recruiting rankings.... and you have to look at the guys who are likely to be on the field. Defensively UT plays more 3* but on offense Palmer is the only starting 3*. UGA two 3* on O. UT actually starts more 5* on O.

They're talented and deep on D. That makes it a match up of strength on strength with UT's OL... and why I keep saying that JG having the ability to consistently make them pay when they leave openings deep is key to UT winning.

I do not know really what to think about UT's D. There are a lot of 3* players. But they're mostly 3* players that Pruitt has pursued and often taken a commit from when 4* players were still on the board.

Whether he's right or wrong, Pruitt trusts his own evals.
