The last 4 recruiting classes

The Last 4 Recruiting Classes, 2017,2018,2019,2020 Ga has had 2-#2 Classes and 2-#1 Classes. I’m not saying Vols can’t win but this Ga team is Loaded. Vols need some breaks and can’t beat themselves. My point is fans who are claiming this is a must win game for CJP and the program need to look at the matchup first.

They sure didn't look like it against Arkansas. Auburn is simply overrated, so it's not surprising GA looked better.

Lmao, the attrition of those classes has been colossal... This is a completely irrelevant post give no other updated context of adjusted numbers... Bet Georgia wishes they had Justin Fields and Cade Mays right about now... And there's been more...

To your point their "lead pipe cinch" Heisman QB this year walked off after a few practices.

Break down the matchup..

You just showed UGAs last 4 recruiting classes. And UTs?
What are they now if reranked?

Maybe this is a must/can win. Maybe not. You didn't provide enough info either way. Yet you say look at the matchup first.

What matchup (s)??

Our strengths point right at their strengths. UT O-line/RB's vs UGA Front seven. Their offensive strengths point right at our uncertainties. 0-line/RB's vs our front seven. Our wr's/Te's vs their DB's.
In essence, their great defense trumps our efficient offense. Our 'not that great' defense may not fair as well against their efficient offense.

1. QB's Slight edge UT
2. RB's a wash
3. OL UT
4. DL Huge edge UGA
5. DB's Slight edge UGA
6. LB's Huge edge UGA
7. Kickers/Punters UT
8. Returners UGA
9. Overall talent & Depth UGA
10. Speed A wash
11. Size A wash
12. Turnover A wash
13. Penalties A wash
14. Overall Offense Slight edge to UGA
15. Overall Defense Huge edge to UGA
16. Receivers UGA

I believe our defense has the talent to be elite in both the front 7 and backfield. It will come together for us this season, maybe even starting tomorrow.
BTW- You should apply for a job at Georgia in their recruiting department.

A lot of attrition on the offense. Their D however is top 5 in the country. If we can run and move the ball then will be a close game. Not worried about our Defense and their offense, much more worried about how good their D is compared to our offense.

Your effort is appreciated.

I disagree with us having "not that great defense " and their offense only scored 3 points in the 2nd half against Auburn I believe. They do have a talented Backfield. Our LBs have the talent to be up to the task. All our DBs are physical. We can shut down their rushing attack.

Their supposed great defense hasn't played an efficient offense yet. We completed a deep pass last weekend that oppened up the whole offense. I don't see them stopping our rushing attack because if those safety cheat up, we CAN run past them. Our WRs have a good amount of playmaking ability.

This game is a push imo...
Bennett got them there. If he hadn't emerged I would pick the VOLS straight up...

You can only put 11 guys on the field at once. With good qb play and a couple breaks we can pull the upset.

How many of those recruits have left. Justin Fields. Cade Mays.

How do you calculate player progression due to coaching? I’ve routinely seen players improve drastically under Pruitt.

It would help his resume but its not a must win for Pruitt.
We have talent, we have the coaches, and finally we know what it takes to win.

BUT...

IF things the game goes south for Georgia there is a lot more pressure in Athens.
Almost NO chance of an east title.
No playoff
Mix that with all the chatter surrounding recruiting
All the pressure is squarely on the shoulders of Smart and his team.

Tennessee just needs to go out and play lose, fast, and mental error free and they will be fine. Dont get caught in the wash if Georgia gets behind and they play dirty.

by the way they play on the field
Tape dont lie

and his reputation speaks for itself when it comes to defensive backs alone. He may not always have world class athletes but he will get everything out of a player that he is willing to give. I have no doubts about that.

Last 3 games the average score has been 40-8. I don't expect a win but it's time to improve and make this a game again

They’ve had a ton of fall-out from those classes; Brenton Cox and Justin Fields and Cade Mays most notably, all 5-star guys, and there are more that I’m not remembering. Dudes have transferred, gone pro, been injured, etc. Their offense is NOT loaded, although their o-line is to be respected. I don’t see a Sony Michel or Chubb or Gurley type RB right now either, and they’ve got one WR who impresses me.

Don’t be intimidated by Georgia.
I'm not. If TN doesn't win today, I hope Trask lights their asses up.
