The Kerry Blackshear Thread

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard, "I think Kerry Blackshear goes down today".....well, I would have at least 15 or 20 dollars. Not enough to make me a rich man, but it could get me a nice lunch and you get the picture. The most high profile remaining grad transfer on the market, Blackshear's recruitment has college basketball's eyes -- especially those in the SEC --- watching closely to see what happens. After developing into a potential NBA level big man at Virginia Tech, Blackshear has been the subject of pretty strong recruiting battle that has had twists and turns and lots of indecisiveness. My belief is that he should be making his decision soon and I would venture to guess that he picks either Arkansas, Kentucky or Tennessee but until he makes a decision we'll all continue to watch and wait.

No I most definitely wasnt.

If I could chose one to go it would be Pember then Fulkerson.

Everybody has a role and Fulkerson is our dog. You have to have guys like him. If we could replace him with somebody who is better at that role, then great. Until then, the guy is needed.

Give Pember a chance. We've never had a sniper F/C. That could be fun.

Damn, wouldn't it be cool if Blackshear announced his commitment to UT on that 990 show on Fox43.

If you’re thinking about clearing salary cap space for the 2020 and 2021 free agency classes, it would be a mistake to part with Fulkerson. He only has two years left on his contract, and he has an option to opt out after next season if he graduates by then.

I realize that’s a rather professional way of looking at this, but that seems to be where the sport and this team are at right now.

Fulkerson is a rising junior. That's usually when players come into their own. He's clearly got the motor and desire. He's shown some skills as well. I think he turns into a solid player for us these next 2 years. Pember? No clue what we have in him. Way too early to tell.
