the jumbotron was nice when they actually used the whole screen to show a replay. how pathetic, they spent that much money to show the sponsors better.

i hate the jumbotron.

Heck, man! That thing has to get paid for somehow.

Looked pretty sweet on TV; I can't wait to see the replays on it in fullscreen mode.

it only played full screen when they scored. all the other replays were no different than the old screen. the only difference is the advertising was twice as big. that was the most disapointing part of the stadium.

It's pretty sweet, but they need to put the score up there along with the time remaining.

They said the first couple games would be "trial" runs pretty much. They are still getting used to the things they can do with it. The scoreboard will be up there at some point it looked like, with the black bar running at the bottom empty yesterday.

I am mad at Mike Hamilton about the new screen. I sit in XX1 under the overhang next to the press box. My row is right at the edge of the press box so last year I could see the screen, this year I sit in my seat and since he built the new west suites they put an overhang over the seats of those rich people and it blocks my view entirely, also last year we at least had tv screens for the people in higher rows that could not see the screen but this year he even took those away so all of us in that section cannot see any replays-can you believe that crap. I want to wrtie him an email does anyone know his address?

I caught the first couple minutes of the Florida broadcast. It looked like they had a nice big wide screen that had advertisements on two thirds of it as well. Its sad but every sporting event seems to be more about the sponsors.

it's not that anybody WANTS this, but if you still want more great stuff like this, you gotta have sponsors to pay for it.

i saw the florida one too and i did like the idea of the "Gator on the prowl" they had before they got out of the locker room.

The "Gator on the prowl" was pretty cool. I understand someone has to pay for the stuff, but I don't know that its worth the millions of dollars if it isn't going to be put to full use.

I was sitting in section N row 40 and couldn't see the jumbotron from there. I could see like a piece of the corner... last time I wait til last minute to buy tickets. I hope another jumbotron for the opposite side of the stadium is coming up in these renovations. That would be sweet.

if you're going to show sponsors, flash them between replays, etc. and rotate them. Everybody knows who the sponsors are. Taking up that much screen is ridiculous.

It's pretty sweet, but they need to put the score up there along with the time remaining.

They had a score bar along the bottom during pre-game warm ups (It had Tennessee & WKU's logo & everything) but they turned it off shortly before game time (It was where that black bar along the bottom of the screen was the whole game). I guess they were having issues getting it to work properly.

My two main gripes were; 1. The gigantic adds on the sides of the screen that made it look just like the jumbotron that we had $4.5M ago and, 2. The video and sound were at least 2 seconds out of sync and that bugged the livin' crap out of me.

I'm sure they just need to work out the bugs though. :good!:

Looked good to me also from XX3, row 25. Agreed that the ads were to big though.

:thumbsup:the advertising benefits from adding this screen was the main reason we got the thing. just be happy with the crisp picture we get all game and the amazing full screen images we get on highlights.

It was like opening Christmas presents to find out you didn't get that Red Rider BB gun, very disappointing. Especially, since Skymonkey put so much into the Jumbotron thread.

The score needs to be up there, period. I would like to see them use the screens that ring the upper deck better too. There is plenty of space for stats, yet we get almost nothing all game long. I would like to believe the post that said we would see fewer ads after it was paid for... that hasn't been the case in the past. I do think they will get better at utilizing the new screen though. It is an improvement in ways. But, not having the score and stats up there is a step in the wrong direction.
