The Jarrett Guarantano hate

What about the time he pouted and threw a tantrum on the sideline freshman year.

He was told he'd get to play by Butch. He's a competitor like any competitor they want to compete. Would you show displeasure if you were told you'd play, but never got to go in? Maybe he shouldn't have wore his emotions on his sleeve, but all he wants to do is win.

I agree with Beardedvol. I hope JG finally plays like a top tier SEC QB and does so consistently. I've never had a problem with him personally. I do have a problem with the resident JG cultists.
I agree . I hope JG does well tomorrow and the rest of the season. I don’t think it’s wrong that I’m skeptical, and I think anybody that has watched him objectively should have the same line of thinking. He’s had some good moments and he’s more bad than good. We know what’s in there and we just want to see it on a more consistent basis . I’m pulling for him and IMO everybody should be, doesn’t mean he doesn’t drive us crazy .

I agree with most....hope JG comes out and shows out and has an incredible game. The kid deserves to do well, as I think he genuinely works hard to improve his game. It just hasn't translated to th field yet. But one cannot argue that he has played like a top tier SEC QB. He just hasn't.

And can we please stop saying he led the come from behind win against Indiana. He led the get-behind drives. TNs defense and RB play were the main reason they came back and won that game

JG is only our QB because the QB situation at UT has been abysmal for so long and they cant seem to get their act together at that position. JG is the same guy that "lead" UT to its only 0-8 record in the SEC.

JG doesn't need to plays at a Hiesman level butnhe does need to be more then just a game manager...

I don’t care if Bob Kesling starts at qb tomorrow, WGWTFA.
Kesling would get his own name wrong.

Kesling also doesn't know the difference between a 2 yard gain and a 7-8 yard gain. Too many times he would announce "gained about 8 yards" on first and then and then say it's "2nd down with 8 yards for the line to gain".

Listening to Bob is like watching the game with your drunk uncle, always entertaining.

By what ranking is is top half in the SEC or top 3rd in the country?
He only sees "stats" that agree with his conclusions. He blames all those losses on someone else. He blamed the OL long after the OL stopped being the primary problem in pass protection. He goes nuts when you point out he's not even in the top 100 in RZ effectiveness.

Again, I truly have nothing against JG. It is mindless cultists like k-town that I'm taking shots at.

How can almos every ut fan (excluding op) make an observation that our coach can’t make? We’re likely better with any qb on the roster playing than JG. It’s the same every year for what seems like the last decade. We hear how good he is and how much he’s improved. And then as soon as the lights come on he has the deer in the headlights look. I understand that he likely is the best performer at practice and has the best grasp of the playbook. But being a good qb is so much more than that. It’s moxie, and iq, and feeling the pressure, and knowing when to take a shot vs when to check down, and where the first down line is at all times. And JG will fail at all of those intangibles. And intangible is something you’re more or less born with. He’s not going to gain all those skills because he j owns the play book better this year than last. Again...he started the last couple of seasons ahead of others mainly because he had a good grasp of the playbook.

He hasn't.

We haven't seen what JG will do this year yet, I'm hoping having the same oc and qb coaches for more than a season will get him around the corner. I believe (or hope)🥶 we see the JG we all thought we'd see

Go Vols!!

It sucks for the kid. He had to go through 4 coordinators in four years and on top of that, didn’t improve much over the four years(that’s on the revolving door of QB coaches for not doing their job). That being said, the coaches have no incentive to put their worst QB. I hate to say it but I think he’s our best choice at tho point, which is really saying something.

If he is we have done a very poor job of recruiting qb's
