The Impeachment Thread

Corrupt people sometimes tell the truth, sometimes they get impeached.

and they lie a lot too - kinda part of the "corrupt" part.

regardless, even corrupt people shouldn't be railroaded on bogus (I avoided trumped up) charges. vengeance isn't rule of law

this is Russiagate all over again on the VN. Carefully released information is touted as overwhelming evidence. Counter evidence ignored and after the facts are truly investigated - ye ole nothing burger.
What Parnas is telling Maddow, is highly relevant and firsthand information. It's also very compelling in its condemnation of Trump, Barr, Pence and Giuliani. There is obviously the question of the credibility of Lev Parnas, but he is providing very specific details to the time, place and meetings with Giuliani and what was said. It implicates everyone... and Barr looks terrible. He has to respond to what has been said in this interview.

Given the documentation, the testimony of Sondland and others, and now the interview and documents from Parnas, it is safe to say the real entity on trial next week is the GOP in the Senate. Do they have the integrity to have the now overwhelming evidence compel the correct result, or will they give in to purely partisan demands?

I still think it fails, but would not surprise me if there are 50 to 55 votes to remove.

There is nothing bogus about this impeachment. Trump did exactly what he has been accused of. The only defense is it was his right to ask a foreign country to investigate his political opponent, use extortion tactics to try to accomplish it through his personal lawyer, and try to cover it up.

of course this is your response - Senate (GOP) bad; House (DEM) pure and goodness.

laughable at complaining about integrity from one chamber of Congress but not the other

If any Republican votes to remove their political careers are over.

...and now Lev Parnas is going off on Rep. Devin Nunes. He says he met with Nunes "several times" to discuss investigating the Bidens. Nunes told Fox News in October that he didn't know who Lev Parnas was and that he couldn't remember ever speaking to him.

Well Schiff has no idea who the whistleblower is either.
