Insane. I mean, absolutely insane. He was acquitted criminally, but impeached by the Senate for bribery ($150K) by an undercover FBI official, when he was served as a US District Judge.

Bribery is common practice for congress. How could you otherwise explain amassing millions on a congressional salary? It's why the tax code is thousands of pages chocked full of exceptions and special dispensations. Same with regulations. A flat tax would put a lot of congress critters out of business, and that's why that will never happen. People with resources ... the king makers ... don't want honest people in congress; they want people they can buy to do their bidding.

My buddy I grew up with, his dad was a very large donor and fund raiser, actually largest fund raiser, was given one of the most cush stations in the world for a few years. Yes, this is how it happens for the majority of Ambassadorships.

My impression of Pelosi is about as low as things get, but I honestly think she was intelligent enough to see the blunder in impeachment but couldn't hold off the fools her party elected. She's deserving of what comes her way ... she could have lost her support and position as speaker for doing the right thing, but she traded any ethics she might have had to retain her status which is too week to control her congressional clown car.
