The Impeachment Thread

One of the most absurd points in all this is that the dims want "witnesses" in the senate trail when they blocked witnesses in the house anti Trump crusade. We finally wrapped up an unscrupulous witch hunt based on unvetted false allegations, and the dims refuse to put the accuser and "witnesses" to the accusations "on the stand". In other words they want to conduct Mueller Pt 2 with new faulty unvetted beginnings. It's like deja vu all over again on a little different stage. Mitch needs to inform lil Chuckie once and for all that the house set the stage when it came to bias and what goes around comes around.

I think Mitch put Cryin’ Chuck in his place today.

Paul Harvey would go on to say that Sonland went on to testify that on Sept. 9th, after he knew he had been busted, Trump said he wanted no quid pro quo and that Sonland would refuse to answer if he thought Trump actually believed that when he said it.
That’s not quite what Sondland said but you were almost there.

Good marks!?!?!? My ass. I haven't seen anyone--even the most ardent Trump leg-humpers--who've concluded this toddler-tantrum-meets-ink-on-paper is a good letter.

Edit: Found one. He compares it to the Gettysburg Address. How do they say this stuff with a straight face?

When I say that Trump hasn't expanded on his core base of support, I am alluding to his poll numbers which have been remarkably stagnant during his tenure. They don't seem tied to the economy or to the stock market. They simply don't move. Trump's Real Clear Politics Average Approval Rating has been between 37.1% and 46.2%. Currently, it is at 44.1%. That is an incredibly small variance for 3 years. With such a strong economy at his back, that is not a good sign. Trump is either not getting any credit for the economy, or concerns over his behavior are overriding how people feel about the economy. Having said that, there is no question that his supporters are loyal, enthusiastic and unwavering.

Can't imagine why? Since the mainstream media has fallen all over themselves the last three years in talking about him and his administration's accomplishments. How the FLOTUS is so great with speaking three languages and is so beautiful she is on every magazine cover. The big three along with CNN & MSNBC headline practically every night on how great the stockmarket is and lowest unemployment in our nation's history and all of his great accomplishments in restarting business and industry in our country.

Oh wait that's on Earth-2, here they have constantly raged against him, have repeatedly said he and his supporters are racists and downplayed all his accomplishments. They said he should be impeached before his inaugural parade was even over and how we need a recession to help make him a one term president.

So no I can't imagine why his approval ratings aren't better.🤪🤪

The poll results couldn't have anything to do with Donald Trump's immature and petty behavior could they ... especially on Twitter, where Trump is seemingly always fighting with someone, settling scores with pejorative nicknames and airing grievances?

If Donald Trump would just stay off Twitter for a month, his poll numbers would go up. Trump simply doesn't have the self-discipline to do it. Trump does hold some responsibility for why his poll numbers don't reflect the state of the economy, as other President's approval ratings have. Trump generates much of his own bad press. Trump embodies traits which the average person doesn't find appealing, and due to his daily behavior on social media, you can never separate Trump's character from his presidency.

Look how fake this guy is. None of those people were appointed by Trump. They were random idiots. I don't think the American people are dumb enough to believe this.

SC Congressman Joe Cunningham will vote to support President Trump's impeachment

"I did not come to Congress to impeach the President. But after careful consideration of the evidence and testimony delivered to Congress by dedicated public servants, many of whom the President himself appointed, it is clear to me he committed an impeachable abuse of power," a statement from the Democratic House Representative for South Carolina's 1st Congressional District said in part.

I had to Google this, as it seems preposterous.

And...

It's true.

Insane. I mean, absolutely insane. He was acquitted criminally, but impeached by the Senate for bribery ($150K) by an undercover FBI official, when he was served as a US District Judge.
And got voted in. I can see the error of the citizens not knowing. But no way his opponent (if there was one) didn't mention it.

My biggest concern, how the heck can you run for congress after being convicted of something like this??

That is not true. Gordon Sondland was not only appointed by Donald Trump to be the Ambassador to the European Union, he was also a Trump donor.

Yes, I already said that was correct.

I’m saying it’s not the same thing as “beyond a reasonable doubt” and “preponderance of the evidence,” which are standards of proof that are supposed to be applied by jurors on criminal/civil cases to determine what verdict they support.

You guys were talking about standards of proof and I asked you what you felt the “standard” was for impeachment. My apologies, maybe I wasn’t clear, I meant the standard of proof.
Given the gravity of removing a President from office the standard should always be beyond reasonable doubt.

So where do we go from here? In a matter of hours the House will impeach the president. Within a couple of weeks the the Senate will acquit him. He will not be removed, the left will wake each morning to find Trump is still our president. So where do we go from here. What's the democrats next plan for total disruption of this administration, the disruption of the American peoples lives and our government?

I recognize that just because you define something as "modern day slavery" you may not be correct. I repeat that while I may disagree with your characterization of something as modern slavery I don't live in hope that someday you'll see things my way.
That's your freedom, I'm confident you'll grow to view it correctly. JK
