The Impeachment Thread

So where do we go from here? In a matter of hours the House will impeach the president. Within a couple of weeks the the Senate will acquit him. He will not be removed, the left will wake each morning to find Trump is still our president. So where do we go from here. What's the democrats next plan for total disruption of this administration, the disruption of the American peoples lives and our government?

They will lose the house and then after Trumps electoral beatdown they will lose the their minds. They have committed political suicide 😂

That's your freedom, I'm confident you'll grow to view it correctly. JK

I'm not sure you saw my analogy earlier. Go back and find it - it was great.
It would be like your child getting arrested for armed robbery as he's trying to support his drug addiction.
(2016 was like your child getting arrested for selling drugs)
(Impeachment - attempted forced intervention)
Yes, that is like getting your heart ripped out again.

Well, presuming the President is not convicted, he then has a pass to pretty much do whatever he wants, right? It'll be more unhinged Trump, but the real insanity would begin in 2021 should he be re-elected.

Obviously follow through with the remaining ongoing investigations and anxiously await the 2020 election.

"The message to the Ukrainians (and Russians) we send with the decision on security assistance is key. With the hold, we have already shaken their faith in us. Thus my nightmare scenario."

"As I said on the phone, I think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign."

These are two text messages from the acting United States Ambassador to the Ukraine, William Taylor, which were sent to United States Special Representative, Kurt Volker, that clearly show that Taylor not only had a serious concern over the hold on military aid to the Ukraine, but also show that Taylor believed the hold was placed as leverage against a political campaign favor - Zelensky announcing an investigation into the Bidens on CNN.

There really shouldn't be any doubt as to what happened here. Both of the Ambassadors to the Ukraine (Yovanovitch and Taylor) understood there to be a quid-pro-quo ultimatum at hand. So did Gordon Sondland and so did Fiona Hill. Trump is guilty as hell of abusing the power of his office. He should be held accountable for it and he will be. This is a great day for America.

I had to Google this, as it seems preposterous.

And...

It's true.

Insane. I mean, absolutely insane. He was acquitted criminally, but impeached by the Senate for bribery ($150K) by an undercover FBI official, when he was served as a US District Judge.
All of us older guys knew that. It was common knowledge.

More than the Pelosi, schiff and nadler? oh hell yes in a yuuuuuuge way
Are we talking about the same grown up who drew a line on a weather forecast map with a Sharpie in September, because he wanted to further an argument with the National Weather Service over the trajectory of a hurricane? Yep, it takes a mature adult like Donald Trump to do something like that.

Maybe I'm not even sure of what the message is, it sort of gets lost in all of the horrendously despicable behavior. It seems to be that the media is bad (the media which he loves and craves more than any previous POTUS) and that the people you perceive think they are better than you are actually not only not better, but they are your enemy. That the country as we know it is being attacked from both within and without by people who do not look or think like us and they must be stopped. Something like that?

Don't know a lot about Joe Kennedy, but JFK and Trump represent polar opposite trajectories for humanity.

But I've always said Trump was the one to take us to rock bottom, so on that we agree.

I don't disagree with that in general. He is accomplishing many good things a president should go for. Even got the trade deal. But, yes, his behavior will always over shadow that to various degrees.

Joe Kennedy was scum. He rubbed off mostly on Ted. The others came out better, but what didn't was well masked. Either way you spin it, they had mob connections, good and bad. One reason it was always a rumor that the mob took JFK out was putting him in the WH, then Bobby going after the teamsters.

I'm talking about the guy who gave working Americans tax cuts, who has deregulated to help make the economy roar. I'm talking about the guy that jump started an economy to record low unemployment rates. I'm talking about the guy who has given us great judges. All that vs the whiny, soft dems like you who are so soft you want to say f the country and constitution because your gal lost as you still can't handle it.

The guy who increased spending while he was cutting taxes? Which is fiscally irresponsible. The guy who has de-regulated to an extreme, to the expense of the environment? The guy who inherited an economy from Obama, whose indices were all trending in a positive direction, including employment? The guy who has consistently nominated unqualified and extremist judges to the judiciary like Michael Petersen? The guy who has employed corrupt and self-dealing cabinet members such as Scott Pruitt, Tom Price, Ryan Zinke, Wilbur Ross, Betsy Devos and Elaine Chao? The guy who has violated the emoluments clause time and time again? The guy who plays golf constantly, tweets constantly and watches cable news? The egocentric, hyper-sensitive, insecure, immature, irresponsible, self-absorbed, unrefined and ignorant embarrassment? Yes, that guy.
