The Impeachment Thread

Do you remember when the White house of political strategy and outreach was formed. Congress wanted to make sure the President was following the rules and called the director of the program (Simas) to testify and the President refused to let him from testifying. Clearly Obstruction of Congress, right @RockyTop85.

When President started making all sorts of unilateral (and illegal) changes to the ACA. When IRS decided to expand ACA subsidies to be used in federal exchanges in addition to state exchanges, the administration refused to allow Treasury Department officials to testify on the rule changing process, using the excuse that the issue was soon to be decided in the Supreme Court. Clearly an abuse of power, right?

Top Obama aide defies House Oversight subpoena

Darryl Issa agrees with you and apparently that all GOP White House witnesses should honor the subpoenas this time, too, and appear. Right?

Right?

Right?

I didn't so I looked it up.

Completely different situation, Obama was president.

“ The day Richard Nixon failed to answer that subpoena is the day that he was subject to impeachment because he took the power from Congress over the impeachment process away from Congress and he became the judge and jury." - Lindsey Graham, 1999

“ The day Donald Trump failed to answer that subpoena is the day that he was subject to impeachment because he took the power from Congress over the impeachment process away from Congress and he became the judge and jury." - Not Lindsey Graham, 2019

Lindsey Graham is the poster child for what's wrong with Congress. Completely devoid of conscience.

You can only blame so much on the media. Trump creates much of his own bad press with immature, petty, egotistical, vindictive and arrogant conduct. Trump is a guy who drew a line on a weather forecast map in September with a sharpie, just because he couldn't admit to a simple mistake and he wanted to win an argument with the National Weather Service. He does things of that nature all the time.

The strategy is simple: Remind the voters of this type of behavior and make it the point of emphasis. This is not conduct that the average person is going to admire. Trump is so petty and small.
Lol. Good luck with that

According to NPR they will not be happy with President Trump.

Canned response from a hate filled view
What? It's the truth. It was always the truth. Your denial doesn't change that fact.
Trump won the republican nomination primarily because he was divisive. The proverbial middle finger.
Continually flip someone off if you wish, just spare me the feigned indignation when there is a predictable response.

I have never seen the media and dems focus so much rhetoric towards one goal... Trumps demise.
They've had one goal since election night, reverse the outcome. 1.Harrass the man hoping he would quit, he's too stubborn to quit. 2.Find something, anything to criminalize him, currently the " charges" are some weak ****. 3.Tarnish his image just enough to move the needle at the voting booth. My feeling is he'll win a second term.

He'll be flipping you off for 5 more years. Prepare yourself.:)

It’s simple why they chose that. It’s a betrayal of principle by putting party wish ahead of what’s good for the country. It’s why they didn’t move to impeachment inquiry when the zmuellet report came out. 10 coins of OOJ is a mandated impeachment inquiry per the constitution

InsteD the Dems caved to the wishes of Dems in the swing states. After Barr spoke his lies and then let weeks go by before issuing the report the lies became reality in the minds of many as is evidenced by posts here. Trump would possibly win those states if OOJ was on the table

I call ******** on the Dems for this. Conviction for the rule of law needs to carry the day
Well one thing is for sure. You are dumb enough to be a Democrat so you should stop calling yourself independent.

I never saw the BJ happen. Therefore it's all hearsay, second hand info.

It was clearly a witch hunt hoax.
Cumsies on the dress..but hey if you wake up with stains like that on you the didnt see it didnt happen strategy is a good one.

Did you not fully expect that if he won? Had Hillary won, I knew full well that republicans would do everything within their power to impeach her and destroy her presidency in any way possible. (They were planning their strategies even prior to the election) That is the primary reason I supported Bernie.
The people who nominated Trump had to have known...if not, they're more delusional than I thought.

Yes to all of the above. The source of my constant bewilderment is that the rest of you suddenly stopped caring about these things.

Completely embarrassed. Why don't you embarrass me further and explain it?

Because trying to explain the basic fundamentals of Supreme Court precedence, the procedural history and holding of U.S. v. Nixon, and a reference to a 2500 year old fable about an idiot kid whose sheep got eaten because he kept trolling the townsfolk, is a little much to undertake in one post.
