The Impeachment Thread

Whoa whoa whoa...

You know there's a difference between downloading at a rate of 32 Megabytes p/s and an internet speed of 32 Megabits* per second, right?

Like a megabyte =/= megabit. You realize this, right?

Yes. I am an IT professional. That screen shot shows 32 Megabytes a second 5 years before the moment when Orange's expert says no one, even Russia, had 22 megabytes.

Also know the scaling difference between the two units.

Thanks for jumping in on the side of the dimwits.

"Blah blah blah I don't have a proper counter to his point so I'm going to just sit on my keyboard and hope for the best."

Trust me, being from Jackson isn't exactly my favorite quality.

Then maybe you should work on your approach to people instead. Went to school down the road. Know some folks still in Jackson. But, could always claim Atlanta (Griffin), so I had that going for me. It's not all bad. Ya'll still have Brooksie's Barn.

You would expect the president to be an adult. (or maybe that's just me)
I didn't argue with my kids because they were kids and I'm an adult.
Now when there is an "adult" in a position of authority that constantly behaves like a kid, that's another story.
At first you would hope that people would be wise enough not to put such a person in a position of authority.
Then you would hope that they would at least recognize the error of their decision and correct it.
Having seen both of those safeguards fail, you're left with few options.

I'm breaking my own rule.

Looks like someone bit off more than they can chew. Try taking smaller bytes.

I counter with an example that proves he is is full of it, and no expert. Exactly like you.

On 2/28/2011 a google employee was downloading at 32MBps, speeds which your expert said did not exist in 2016. Not even for Russian intelligence operatives.

What a maroon!
😂 ok... yeah that game download example totally trumps IT professionals using published readily available backbone data rates.

Protip: check into burst vs sustained data transfer rates 🤣

I say they impeach....I certainly hope they do.
If I'm wrong, I'll come on here and admit that once again I was wrong.
If they do impeach and you are wrong, you do the same.
On this we agree Luther. Even Schiff seems to be sniffing the political winds on this after taking his headlong plunge. But the momentum to impeach being led by the progressives may yet drag them all down that rabbit hole.

If you were actually an IT professional, then you know that there were several avenues by which to achieve that speed in that time (T1/T3/LAN). No way to know that the data being downloaded wasn't already acquired on another machine sharing that same server.

Call me crazy to dispute the evidence of a Rift update screenshot, but by all means continue pretending to be an expert.

The only place I can stomach in that area is Sharpe's bar, and that's because I've only seen more than 4 people in there a couple of strange times.

My approach is fine. Hell is other people.

8.

Which means that Guccifer would have had to have downloaded across the Atlantic at over 200 Mb/sec. The US did not have 200+ Mb/s downloads in 2015, and cross-Atlantic internet had NOwhere near that.

If you don't believe me, a brief internet search should clear it up for you.

Like I said, the claims were made by a group of former US Intel operators who have a history of calling the US Intel out for politically fuelled claims, and being right. There's a reason that those who tried to debunk the claims didn't use the tact you tied to use--because they knew better.

Your ego is working against you on this one. Your best bet is to fill in the bunker you've dug and re-dig it in a better chosen battle.

Hooray. There are only 8 bits in a byte!

Every stupid thing you are claiming is absolutely and demonstrably false.

Guccifer 2.0 was the hacker.

I see that you changed your story from the original expert. His claim was that 22MBps did not exist in 2016.

Since I need to do the math for you that would be 176megabits per seconds, which absolutely existed in 2016.

OMFG that makes your comments even more hilarious!

So mr IT professional can you provide proof that the hacker used the rather dedicated high speed lanes used by, say, financial professionals to minimize latency as well as maximize sustained data rates or you just got more gaming screen grabs? 🤣

Yeah, and guess what? Biden is a relic. He is a fool. So, way to compare WTNOB's mental capacity to Bidens. It's sweet of you, albeit somewhat flattering.

Just because someone wasn't the first person to say something stupid doesn't mean they're immune from stupidity themselves.

Not bad. I might save that one.

Let's do it.
That may not be a rabbit hole but a shaft to a gold mine.

Not what you were disputing initially, sport. I used that particular screenshot because this was a controlled download event that Google advertised to show the possibilities of the internet for player versus player gaming with small action iterations between servers at a distance.

In short, it is a known peg in the download speed map.

Boy, you really are mad about being from Jackson. Let it go. It's not quite that bad.

@Orange_Crush youre right and I’m about to go to airplane mode.

The lanes he’s referencing which provide sustained high transfer rates with minimized latency are not basic access and require premium and even dedicated hardware. Yeah that’s exactly what an anonymous hacker is gonna use 😂

Nah, I'm just kidding around. I have a lot of family there. You probably know my old man.

It's just a drag having to visit there so much because my entire family goes there for major holidays. Getting ready to head there tomorrow for yet another Thanksgiving in Bon Air Circle.

A simple google search will show maximum download speeds by country in 2015/16.
