The Impeachment Thread

The main issue for Democrats is that many Americans are totally disconnected, including a lot of the younger voters that will likely forget to show up next November.

Most Americans Think Trump Committed An Impeachable Offense

However:

Only about 34 percent of respondents who aren’t as certain about their stance on impeachment are following the process somewhat or very closely, compared to 66 percent of respondents who are more certain. So while there are people out there who could still be convinced by the Democrats’ case against Trump, they’re also less likely to be paying attention.

My guess would be next month.
No need to guess, democrats decided on impeachment when they won the house in 2018. They're just going through the motions to try and make some semblance of what they are doing is right. You guys better look out for the wave of support for the GOP that is about to kick your buts.

The longer this plays out the worse it goes for the POTUS and GOP, regardless of what some on this board are saying today....it was a bad day for the POTUS and GOP.

If you watch the news every day is a bad day for the GOP and POTUS. And you hit the nail on the head to the way Nancy and Chuck think so they will drag it out as long as they can hoping it hurts him in the election.

I don't need to look it up, I learned about it in school. And spaceghost has posted racist rants so Godwins Law doesn't apply when evidence is clear and present. A spade is a spade.
Racism has nothing to do with Godwin’s Law (which by the way is just an internet usage informal observation) it’s that in an Internet debate a party eventually makes a play to compare the other party to Hitler. While Hitler was a racist that comparison isn’t the obvious case to compare ... yet eventually somebody has to always invoke Hitler to make the other party look bad. Godwin’s Law 🤷‍♂️

So do you it’s appropriate for the president to be involved in directing or initiating investigations into political rivals?

See...that’s such a great lawyer question. Closed ended. Yes or no. Unfortunately everyone knows that this is certainly not that case.

The “political rival” wasn’t the primary target of the conversation...it was of 2016 meddling. The “political rival” was the VP point man in a country we are aiding in part to eliminate corruption. The “political rival” once made a similar demand to the one being made now. The “political rival” is the father of a board member of, from all appearances, a corrupt company founded by a former corrupt Ukrainian politician. And, the “political rival” wouldn’t be such if he had never entered a presidential primary he wasn’t going to win anyway.

Edit: to be clear, I’m of the opinion both sides are right. Biden and his family are neck deep in the Ukraine, and Trump was looking for dirt since Joe entered the race.

You mean like the recent waves in Kentucky and Louisiana?

You mean those waves?

Do any of you actually THINK Trump is not guilty of withholding aid in order to get Ukraine to publicly state they were investigating Burisma and the 2016 election?

Is there a word I used that you didn't understand? You do know what a voucher is, right? You are aware that is what the Republicans want for education, right?
I don't know enough about the proposed program. I would assume that it allows those that want to actually seek a better education for their children to get the equivalent of their tax monies go toward private education instead of a government school.

Guess it's over for the Dems.. all those witnesses and not one could show the President ordered a hold on aid for investigations...only guesswork...on to the next attempt! Btw this is attempt number 5 asking for a link where Sondland said the President told him about a Quid pro quo

In simple terms they take tax dollars and give for private education.

I fail to see a problem. Teachers are hired at private schools too. Kids get a better education than they would get with luther. Seems like a big win to me.

They don't care, they must press on.

Next time I will use David Duke. I haven’t learned about any laws related to him.
