The Good: Fulmer and company are gone.
The Bad: About five years too late.

I've used the R.C. Slocum/Phil Fulmer analogy before. Both were alums of their respective schools and had tremendous sucess in their earlier years but dropped off later and got passes because of prior championships (multiple conference for R,C. and national for Fulmer). However, as the losses mounted, recruiting slumped.

Unfortunately, the new coach at UT will face the same problem as Coach Fran and Sherman faced at College Station.........except for one or two exceptional players (like Berry)........ an empty cupboard. For example, look at defensive tackle, especially if Dan Williams comes out early, we will have almost nothing.

I hope we can get some decent juco's, otherwise expect Kiffin to have tough time winning next year. Just as Bobby Petrino had at Arkansas this year.

Ummm...no, we won't need JUCO transfers.

We had the #6 Defense in the Country on Sunday-- the most important pieces returning and maturing.

Our Offense has the playmakers, we just didn't have a well executed system. One strong Offseason and this team will be an SEC Contender once again.

Tell me who will replace Bolden, Williams and Fisher?
Also, even as bad as they played, how many Ol do we lose?

Tennessee has one DT that is good enough to start in the SEC and that is if Dan Williams stays.

If I was CLK, I would be on the phone with every DL recruit that is out there.

I completely agree that Fulmer was obviously done five years ago, and the program has been sliding seriously for years. DT could be a problem, which is just another reason we gotta get better on offense. Time to recruit, Lane--you've got a big job ahead of you.

Sad truth: Fulmer has left the program in worse shape than he found it.

If Kiffin can get a decent quarterback that way, it would help a lot. Remember a fellow named Josh Heupel, eight years ago?

The only reason we're even having this discussion is that Fulmer didn't have a quarterback. If he did, he wouldn't have been fired.

The talent is here man... Preseason top 25 on paper in multiple polls. And like it was said before: #6 defense in the nation after all said and done. Recruiting hasn't been a problem. Developing talent, getting the best talent to produce on the field, and a new offense that no one grasped are the problems.

We're not even close to Arkansas regarding the "empty cupboard" syndrome! Sure, we've got to fill a number of slots but by no means is our cupboard bare. . .hide and watch!
