The Golf Thread

should be getting the two putters, i sent to Mann Krafted back this week.

I had the Scotty Newport 2, ghosted and paint filled in Tennesssee Orange..
he said it looks great can't wait to see it

I am going to have to look that guy up! That will take care of my Tennessee putter fix. Those white hot collegiate putters are impossible to find any more.

Has anybody played the stadium course? Looks so dumb
Yes. My birdie-par-par finish is something I generally like to bore people to death with. :)

It's some extreme target golf and the mounding gives a quintessential 1980s feel to the course. 17 is not really that difficult a shot (in a casual round with no pressure). Bumped a 9 iron in there and mad an easy par. The tee shot on 18 is one of the scariest looking site lines from the tee that you'll ever see. I barely missed the water left then flared my approach into the moguls on the right and got up and down.

What you can't see on TV is the number of places where fairways are crowned and slope into bunkers and some of the maniacal pitches you can be left with around the greens.

I haven't watched any of the Players Championship this weekend until it just came on a few minutes ago, but what in the world is up with the greens (or should I say browns)? Do the always look like this at Sawgrass?

That's what happens when you shave Bermuda down to the roots.

Also, keep in mind that traditionally this tournament was in March and what you saw them putting on was overseeded rye.

Thanks for the explanation. I just can't ever remember seeing the course look like that.

Just got home. Although I was hungover from hell this morning we was able to win our tourney. We shot a 58 & eagled 3 of 4 par 5s. Nobody played great but everybody stepped up when we needed to. That's 2/2 this year.

place I play in Tn has bermuda. I don't think many here do. I was worried because all other courses were green last month, but they turned last week and the course looks great

Was it a scramble? I played terribly today. 84. Missed a 2.5 footer for birdie and I almost lost it.

I missed every par put 6-10 feet. Also my distance control was awul again. Im hitting the ball really solid 85% of time but hitting 8-12 yards father than normal.

Yea 4 man teams with like 20 teams. Only 2 teams broke 60 , a 58 & 59. We left a couple out there too.

Players must hate to be paired with Kevin Na.

how about where he swings over the ball as part of his pre shot routine..they put a clock on him on sportcenter this morning and he took 48 seconds to hit a drive
that makes ben crane look like rory sabbatini
