The Golf Thread

honestly, a PGA Tour event is something i have not done and would like to.

got the pleasure of seeing Tim Clarke blow the John Deere Classic last year. It didn't help that Jonathan Byrd birdied something like 4 of the last 5 holes, but it was still easily in Clarke's grasp and he fumbled it away on the last four holes. Would give anything to see a Major or anything at Pebble.

i meant to post that in The Masters thread.

anyway, i have been to 18 at Pebble. not for a tournament but we stopped there for a family vacation as we passed through Big Sur down Highway 1 many years ago.

absolutely gorgeous.

lived in Monterey for a while and was lucky enough to play the courses there (except Cypress, which nobody plays). Worth the trip and, if you go, do not miss the Bayonet course at the former Ft Ord.

Finally made it to the range today, and as far as I know, nobody was seriously injured. I actually felt pretty good, as by the time I left I wouldn't have been completely ashamed if someone were watching me hit.

Of course, it is about 45 degrees here, so there wasn't a lot of danger of that, but it still felt nice to leave after hitting a few well struck 7 irons in a row.

bought me a rangefinder

The Sharper Image by my office is going out of business, and they had it marked down to $150.00 from $300.00

I love my rangefinder. I initially got it for hunting out west but it's current home is my golf bag.

Went to the range for the first time this year yesterday. I haven't hit that badly since the first time I went to the range last year. All that dang wind didn't help any either.

You mention golf and Hooters girls, and we get pics of the driving range, a golf cart and a beer truck.:)

with a weighted score of 61 and from what I gathered, actually shooting a 63, I'm guessing you were the D player and your shots were rarely used?:p
