That man will hunt you down if you drive in his rough.

A few years ago I was playing on Christmas eve with some friends. There is a course tucked back in the canyons of Orange County that gets really messed up when it rains.

This season was pretty wet and they were dealing with mud slides. So carts were mandatory and they have them all hooked up to gps out here to monitor pace of play etc.

So my buddy was driving in the fairway all day even though he shouldn't have been. On about the 13th hole I had literally a tire on the rough not realizing it and I see the marshall come up. SO I get out of my cart just to say hi and he proceeded to read me the riot act for a solid 3 minutes. Called me every name in the book for not being on the cart path. He was literally an inch away from me just screaming and cussing at me.

I just said merry Christmas and took a huge wide turn to get back on the cart path and drive through as much of the rough as possible.

I then realized he probably though I was the guy in the fairway all day when it was actually my friend.

We saw him a few more times throughout the day and purposely targeted his cart with balls and came pretty close a few times.

Great memory.

They're called KZG EL 250. They're the first irons I ever got and got them as a gift about 8 years ago. I just want to try something newer and have seen Burners for a decent price with good reviews.

I would get them man. I just checked and Golfsmith has them for $299 right now, which is a steal. I bought them last winter for $400 ($200 less than they were a couple months earlier) and they have improved my game more than anything.

I used to own some Cobra knock off irons (King Snake), and I would always buy the newest driver or woods instead of upgrading my below average irons. Finally I decided to splurge on the burners and I noticed a big improvement from the very first time I played with them.

I'm not sure you could find a better value right now for brand new game improvement irons than Burner 2.0s for $300

Does anyone here own a Taylormade R1 driver?

I hit with one awhile back at golfsmith and loved everything about it except I couldn't get over the ridiculous graphics on the head. Anyways, they've introduced the black R1 which looks magnificent. Thinking about buying one but I'm not sure. I never really trust the indoor demos and before I drop $300 on a driver, I'd like to see the actual ball flight outdoors in the elements.

Opinions?

Nice. Thanks for the info. I've done the same and bought new driver, woods, wedges, but always had these irons. I think I'm going to get those from golfsmith as I saw them online as well and thought that was a great price.

No problem. I would hit them first at golfsmith just to make sure you're comfortable with them, but seeing as how you're playing old irons like I used to, those burners should feel amazing to you the first time you swing one.

Eh I just bought them so we'll see. I figure if I could hit my current irons decent enough I can figure out how to hit these.

Great driver except for the graphics on the white head. Haven't seen the black head yet.
Demo one. Go to your local golf store & see what their regulations are for taking a demo club to hit for a few days. Also check in your area for Demo Days.
If you like the club, buy a used white one & paint the head black to save some money. Plenty of DIY on this at GolfWRX

I love my Burners. I got 20 to 30 yards more the first time I played them. If you've played with old clubs for a while these new Burners will surprise you.

I just bought a new TM Superfast driver and lost my ball on the first three holes. I got it at Golf Galaxy for 128.00.

started using the orange whip again last week and hit the ball so great.

My favorite swing trainer by far.

Granted it's the only one I have really ever used.

Great for tempo and if you have issues casting. I flip my wrist on occasion and it really helps me out.

:dunno:Is that good or bad? Loose it out of bounds left, right or when you hit it over the green?

lost my match play match today to a 12 handicap 70 yr old man . I shot an 84, but he shot an 86 from the green tees and took the right holes. But really, what 70 yr old hits it 260 and rolls in 35 foot birdies! wtfmf! I hate to lose dammit.
We were even going into 14 and I am on the par 5 in two for the 2nd time in 3 years. He mi****s a wedge on his 3rd shot, comes up almost 40 feet short, but hits the putt. I birdie too, but another push. Next hole I'm 180 on a par 3 and he's 140. Ended up losing that hole with a bogie and lost the match.
Props to him though. He could stripe it. I won't be alive when I'm 70, so he's ahead of my pace.

Shot 80 today with an 8 on a hole. So damn close to breaking 80 for the first time. Was playing so good then i choked

If you're a single digit handicap (for that course) the worst you can make is double bogey. If its between 10-19 then a 7 would be your worst score on any hole.
