The Golf Thread

I'm everywhere man.

I imagine there are other golfers that read the thread, but if you had been playing for 20 years and still shoot 95, would you post it?
I would've probably quit the game.

i have been playing 20 years and my best round is 83. doesn't bother me a bit to post that. i am generally between 85-90.

i'll golf as long as i am breathing...

people taking pictures while golfing tend to suck and be very, very slow. Take pics when you're finished. Play golf when you're on the course and get on down the road. Stop freaking measuring up putts like you're freaking putting on Sunday at the Masters. Let's get back to 3 hour rounds.

Thanks for the lecture. Rounds at the ocean course average 5.5 hours and it's mostly people looking for balls. So the twosome of my father and I could take all the pictures we want, and still probably play circles around you

you might be talking out your ass.

7 three putts sucks.

sucks bad.

@ 3 of them were just bad putts and I had the yips as I missed putts within 4 feet. The others were really due more to where I left my shot on the green in respect to the hole, mounds, etc. I usually feel comfortable with long putts (40-50 feet)if there is little break or straight, but if I have to take it up on the lip or go over a couple of mounds to get there, I am screwed right now.

when did I say anything was wrong with that?

It appears the emotions of the ff are bleeding over. My comments were in response to someone saying VN had the best golfers around. I responded that many golfers are probably not posting if they are running 90+ rounds all the time, which is obviously true, as very few posters on here consistently shoot below 83, and there are hardly any posters on here that talk about shooting in the 90's.

At any rate, like I said before, a 95 still sucks if someone has been playing awhile, and it sucks if I shoot it. I never said anything about shooting the 80's.

Was this necessary?

is anything on here?

I have a personal problem with playing behind golfers stopping to take pictures. I have spent too much of my time having rounds ruined by waiting on picture takers. Pet peeve. Slow play has ruined the game.

Agree, I hate playing behind people that don't know the rules or just goof around playing slow. That picture probably took 5 seconds to take. I doubt he slowed anyone down.

If I pay hundreds of bucks to play a championship course & it will in all likelihood be the only time playing it you can bet I will snap a few pics. Slow play is part of the game for a lot of reasons. I'd rather play behind some hacks that at least get to the ball & hit it even if they are holding it up a bit than have a guy in my group take all day hitting the ball.
