I have been disappointed with the D and decided to look at some trends in the SEC. This info is a little different than just pts allowed and i thought worth sharing.
I have looked at all the SEC vs SEC games in 2016, 2019 and then this year and here is what I found.
2016:
41% scored 30 or more pts in the game played
21% scored 40 or more pts in their game
2019:
41% scored 30 or more pts
22% scored 40 or more pts
2020:
48% scored 30 or more pts
27% scored 40 or more pts
I find it interesting that from 2016-2019 those % didn’t move much at all and keep in mind LSU was a big part of those 2019 higher numbers.
I find it perplexing that the numbers have skyrocketed this year with a league full of inconsistent or down right bad QBs.
