During the series when UF was backed up on its own 1 was probably the loudest moment I have ever experienced in Neyland.
All that to say that the crowd does still get into home games.
**** you Bama echoed throughout the stadium when Coker got hurt and Bama fans started cheering. Even the bluehairs were doing it
I heard that some people on the other boards said Neyland Stadium is not as loud as Tiger Stadium and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Finally, I know why.
Not everyone wants to make their university appear on par class-wise with Florida and Alabama. I understand that in a gameday atmosphere, and maybe after a few drinks, engaging in a chant like that might not seem like a bad idea. However, it was a nationally televised game, and it made us look pretty classless. The last thing UT needs is to look like the unclassy team in a game versus Bama.
Sorry. I think you are talking about about some other chants. This chant is actually my signature. I don't think this one is bad in nature, at least during the game. I remembered when we were doing this chant, I was confused why the chant was not that loud. I turned around, and found a lot of kids were actually not doing it. I understand girls are kind of shy (except drunk sorority girls), but a lot of guys were just standing there and trying to be cool. One guy stood right behind me, I asked him why he was not doing anything, he was smiling at me and shaking his head. I was speechless.
I know a lot of senior citizens complained about the chant, which led to the reprimanding letter from Mr. Hamilton. I heard that some people on the other boards said Neyland Stadium is not as loud as Tiger Stadium and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Finally, I know why.
I am by no means a senior citizen and would not have participated in that chant. There is a certain line that fans with class should not cross. Being loud and chanting obscenities are 2 totally different things. I hate bammer as much as any UT fan should but that is not what the 3rd Saturday is about.
Not only that, but it's just not funny. It's not.
Kind of like yelling "sucks!" after opposing basketball teams' players are introduced. It just ain't funny, it's not original or clever in any way, and it makes us look like losers.
Loud is good. Obscenities are usually not good. Funny and original are good.
You mean re-hired. You seem to have a good grip on football and reality for a gator fan (just kiddin about the reality thing). We all try to have fun talkin' sports here and welcome folks from other schools to join in on the conversation (well most of us do) so just take everything with a grain of salt around here and we should all get along...That would certainly help, although I think things are already starting to improve since Cutcliffe was hired.

Hey, ya know we have to squeeze the size of the seats in order to "cram" as many butts into the stadium as possible...I made Zooks first game at Neyland and dispite having to sit through rain all game I loved the atmosphere and feel of the stadium..only complaint was that the seats were narrow and I was cramped in..but that is a common occurrence at all games I go to with my size.
