Just remember Uga, when Summer comes around again and drought turns the Alatoona into a mud flat, we will all be taking extended bathroom breaks and flushing several times a day just to help you out. :good!:

It's a lack of sportsmanship. Not long ago, most coaches didn't purposely run the score up on a beaten opponent. Now people are starting to expect it.

You stopped, you looked someone in the eye, and gave them a firm handshake after a game. Now you just stick out a hand and keep walking I guess. I guess before long people will feel there won't be a need for that.

Athletes used to know kids watched their games and tried to be somewhat responsible. Now people expect them to get into trouble. Things changed and not for the better in a lot of ways.

Running up the score can be blamed on the BCS, in my opinion.

im shocked anyone on the inside of Tennessee Fandom would pick up on this. Not that it was a big deal, but some coaches are like Bobby Bowden..."folksy" and others are more like belichick (whom i love btw)..who just blow past...no interest in being friendly.

That's fine to do that i guess. I don't think Beamer was expecting that. Knowing him he probably wanted to tell Kiffin how good his team is going to be next year. But in the end, he'll get over it.

Yeah, I knew a guy who was a GA within the PSU AD about 8 years ago. He always mentioned that Joe Pa was not on top of your list to send Xmas cards to if you catch my drift.

Funny story. He once told us how Joe Pa drove around in his old Saab. Of course the old cat is blind as a bat and reportedly can drive for nothing. He said that it was common knowledge that if you saw him driving, you best get the heck out of the way. Said that his side mirrors were held on with duck tape because he repeatedly knocked them off by hitting things.

Kiffin didn't like beamer running up the score---beamer was lucky that kiffin offered any handshake at all.

Haha, UT fans complaining about RUTS? And I thought this was a new era of UT football.

I saw the shake and wondered what the fanbase would think. Honestly, I didn't expect to see this many UT fans a little upset with it - I guess it proves some of you are still a little sane, despite all that orange. ;)

It didn't look good and the camera was on Kiffin's face and that told the whole story. I see some of you courting the idea that Beamer was the the cause for the short handshake but he looks more stunned than Kiffin does and Kiffin's attitude/look never changes. This is the South - not some beach community on the west coast. We are prided for our Southern hospitality and you'd really have to go out of your way to find a Tennesseean, which I am, that doesn't take pride in their southern heritage. It's really just more of the same from him.

I don't think the hillbilly joke applies to me, unless you are saying all UT fans are Hillbillies, in which case, I'm proud to be one.

Agreed, heard about this ever since it happened about how horrible, snot nosed etc. he was, was ready to be a little upset thnking our coach had no class, but after watching it, it was a simple "good game, now let me go chew some tail cuz Im mad as he**" handshake...nothing wrong with what he did....
