The drive-by post game handshake

Coach needs to know how to act with class. Act like you have been there before. Lose with respect and obviously be grateful when winning. And hopefully he won't have to experience too many more losses in his career (for our own benefit). He didn't show that too much the other night when UT had their tails handed to them.

People being upset by this is unbelievable. Honestly. At a loss of words one of the worst threads ive yet to see.

Don't worry. Just when you think you've seen the worst of the worst threads, another one will come along and top it. The creativeness of this forum is a bottomless pit.

The radio stated that earlier in the week Kiffin, Beamer, and wives went out to dinner. I just can not see the logic in the Beamer disrespect it is just dumb.

Kiffin's a sore loser. He's not very classy in my opinion.
I don't get it. I REALLY don't get it.

I'm all for good sportsmanship and showing respect. I was at the game. I have watched the replay a dozen times. CLK shakes the man's hand and says, "Good game." Should he have offered him a post game cigar or something?

I have watched hundreds if not thousands of football games. The brief interaction at midfield is typical. Why is this being blown out of proportion?

You are right that Coach Kiffin doesn't enjoy losing. Maybe we won't have to see that as often in the future. I sincerely hope that CLK doesn't have enough practice to become a gracious loser.

Exactly. What's he supposed to do, join hands with Beamer in a rendition of Kumbaya?

Correct me if this is wrong, but I don't think Kiffin spends much time with the handshake when he wins either.

He just doesn't care for small talk. The man is busy and has work to do. It's about that simple. He's leaving the field with work on his mind. That is all.

Exactly. He has said nothing but very nice things about Beamer. Some of our fans are just morons.

FYP
He still had the New Year to ring in

and you base this on what? Anyone seriously thinking this was a snub by Kiffin needs their head examined

I think you need to check your bias. He treated the VTech head coach like he was a back-up player instead of the opposing head coach. It doesn't happen by accident after every game, where the opposing coaches meet on the field to shake hands its been a tradition for decades. Doesn't mean I think LK is a bad coach or person, LK is not a gracious loser that's all.

they shook hands. What else did you want him to do?

These teams had been in Atl for about a week and had done quite a few functions where both teams were in attendance. They had also done press conf where both coaches were sitting next to each other. It's not like they met for the first time after the game and CLK was rude. He lost, shook his hand and went to the locker room while Beamer went to the stage to accept the trophy.

Why are some people here more mad at Kiffin than Beamer was?

If it was so disrespectful, why didn't Beamer bat an eyelash directly after? And honestly how was Beamer's handshake any different from Lane's?
