Our understanding of sexuality has evolved. From a purely anecdotal perspective. When I was in college very few women would say they were bisexual. They all said they were straight, but in my experience it was pretty easy to talk them into sexual activity with another female. Claiming to be bisexual came with a negative connotation from many people. Not so much anymore. Women, in my opinion, are far more comfortable with viewing sexuality on a sliding scale.

Being gay was dangerous especially for high school boys. It was only 1998 when Matthew Shepard was murdered by a bunch of knuckle draggers because he was gay. So coming out now is not as dangerous because people have evolved. There are more openly bisexual men now, as well for similar reasons.

Equating something you don't agree with to something illegal and disgusting is the tactic of bigots. Czar is a prime example.

Maybe the kid is uncomfortable because society/teachers are telling them parents can't be trusted and only punish them.

There are only a handful of Murders in my county each year so I don’t know of they are rampant enough to make a bill over it.

Stephen king would just put listeners to sleep (long winded overrated BORE of an author). Chaucer‘s language is so obtuse to today’s kids and their slang that they wouldn’t know what he was talking about, so sure…..read away friend. Knock yourself out

King was a fantastic author. He fizzled out in the 90s. My daughter read Chaucer 2 years ago and understood precisely what was being said. Perhaps you hang with some stupid kids.
