Matthew shepherd wasn’t killed because he was gay. Jesus do you only read headlines without any critical thinking for yourselfLiterature I've read is that homosexuality was thought to be around 10% with bisexuality being much higher. Lumping them together is a recipe meaningless statistics.
Our understanding of sexuality has evolved. From a purely anecdotal perspective. When I was in college very few women would say they were bisexual. They all said they were straight, but in my experience it was pretty easy to talk them into sexual activity with another female. Claiming to be bisexual came with a negative connotation from many people. Not so much anymore. Women, in my opinion, are far more comfortable with viewing sexuality on a sliding scale.
Being gay was dangerous especially for high school boys. It was only 1998 when Matthew Shepard was murdered by a bunch of knuckle draggers because he was gay. So coming out now is not as dangerous because people have evolved. There are more openly bisexual men now, as well for similar reasons.
Equating something you don't agree with to something illegal and disgusting is the tactic of bigots. Czar is a prime example.
