The Deportation of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia

"The Obama administration placed a particular focus on “threats to national security, border security and public safety” by targeting convicted criminals. In 2015, for example, 91 percent of people removed by deportation orders had criminal convictions.

Trump explicitly overturned this criminal prioritization measure as soon as he entered office, for the reason that: “We cannot faithfully execute the immigration laws of the United States if we exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement.”

By comparison, just 41 percent of deportations by removal order in 2019 were directed at convicted criminals."

Interesting

Bro, what specifically are you applying here? Can you say anything besides "I know tattoos?"

Why do you think that flies around here?

Here's my turn...

I know tattoos, and that's definitely not a gang tattoo.

Now what?

Now we look at all the other obvious evidence that he’s most likely a gang member, which you’re intentionally ignoring

The rule of law was completely ignored under the last administration and you completely ignored it, I don't understand why it's suddenly a problem now.

I don't like the way Trump is handling this either, I thought Biden was just short of criminally negligent in the way he handled immigration. At least be consistent.

70% of the posters whining about it on here would be defending it if the President was a different person like Kamala Harris.

Fact is, most the arguments on here from both sides is just partisan arguments with no real independent thought.

I would say the exact same thing about Kamala doing this

I pray that people eventually think this through. An immigration "crisis" that wasn't a crisis for 99% of people is being used as an excuse to just ignore due process with calls to ignore an entire branch of government, and MAGA thinks that is a good and fair and reasonable development
157 billion dollars taken from taxpayer citizens. Countless millions more in damage to US citizens property. And it isn't a crisis.

If unchecked illegal immigration isn't a crisis neither is the deportation without due process, which I disagree with by the way.

An entire agency was neutered under Biden's presidency and worse even scapegoated. To pretend the net drain illegal immigration left us with wasn't a crisis is ostrich levels of aversion to reality.

If one isn't a crisis neither are.

Trump's freaking out about limited resources for deporting people if his admin actually follows the process the courts have outlined for him. He said it will take 485 years, or something like that. Then why on earth are we trying to spend those limited resources deporting tax-payers?

His supporters and defenders can't fathom the idea of a libertarian suggesting that it would be better for the government to focus their resources on dangerous criminals, and property criminals, and then after that non-taxpayers, and then after that tax payers if you are absolutely set on this. Nah. Gotta argue with him and defend the dumbest government imaginable.

“Deporting taxpayers”

The man twice accused of beating his wife, incredibly likely he’s a gang member, but hey…he pays taxes!

That was a "sham" but this guy being "MS-13" because of a Bulls hat and an informant who said he was in "the Westerns clique" in a state where he never lived isn't a sham lol

Still a sham?

We have an informant now, 2 articles of associated clothing, accusation from the father of his step children, arrested with other MS-13 members, and he openly claims he can’t go home because their rival gang wants to kill him.

Just no evidence, right?

First post is huff at the beginning of the thread. Notice it’s all about how this man is a “taxpayer” not a “dangerous criminal” and how this is the “dumbest government imaginable”

Then as all the evidence comes out that this man is actually a violent gang member, he doesn’t admit he’s wrong. Rather it changes to “if you care that he’s a violent gang member, you’re just a xenophobe!”

He might be a gang member. This is not one of the top several concerns with this case. If you are making this argument, you are either

1) a xenophobe
2) a partisan hack who knows it's a bad defense but has to say something
3) too stupid to understand it's a bad point

Pick one

If he got dueprocess, nobody would know his name. That's how you know "he might he a gang member" is a dumbass defense. If you can't fathom this and go back to "he was a gang banger" then you are an idiot.

Yeah sure. Undocumented immigrants entered our country and therefore our President should just be a dictator and decide unilaterally what rights we have, those are definitely equivalent things
No he should have shut the border instead of putting up neon lights and advertising we won't stop you, come on in!

Once the free flow ebbs, open it back up and process them in an orderly, safe fashion. Biden and Democrats hammered Trump about the border, which outside of rhetoric was just a continuation of Obama era policy. So they couldn't be status quo, which is how we ended up with Biden "open border" policy.

Trump is having to deal with a huge surge of undocumented, unskilled people in a down job market and not doing a great job. We are supporting a large percentage of these people when we can't even properly take care of our vets and mentally ill/drug addicted homeless people. Trying to find an exit out of funding a war. A looming threat from China and an aging infrastructure that is 3+ decades overdue for upgrades.

Granted none of this is all on one president but it's a cumulative effect. Our leaders have been an abject disaster, we are drowning in debt and everyone is doubling down on the idiocy.

Curious. Have you met any undocumented immigrants? Do you know any personally? I do. They’re law abiding citizens. They have wives and children. They pay their taxes because it’s taken out of their ****ing checks.

The majority of them if they’re single send money back to their families in other countries because they love them and they make a lot of money here compared to what they could make there.

There’s reality and then there’s the political ******** crap that assholes like Trump want you to believe.
Yes, I know a few, on both ends the of the spectrum. I'm originally from Antioch. Still know a lot of people there. It's about 50/50 good/decent people vs net drain freeloaders.

I used to work as a field manager for one of the largest privately owned painting contractors in Nashville. I've lived along side them. Eaten off the roach coaches with them. Considered them friends.

I'm not sure what reality you live in, the one I see has two hopeless rudderless generations with addiction and homelessness at extremely high rates. Resources stretched thin, jobs harder to come by, decent paying jobs even harder.

Immigration ebbs and flows with a steady upward trend, we've seen an artificial uptick recently and we just aren't prepared to deal with. That's the reality I see.

Boo ****ing hoo. That's the job. His admin has been framing it as "we can't afford to give people due process or other rights because it's such a big emergency, trust us" which is complete BS, and you appear to be repeating it. That's not an excuse to ignore the Supreme Court

What “due process” do you think they deserve? Go to jail and wait for a court date that’s going to send you home or you can go now. The days of releasing invaders INSIDE THE US and hope they show up for court should be over.

The fact that you're putting due process in quotes when it's a right under the Constitution for all people in this country shows the effect propaganda has on people

I'm ignoring nothing. I've said repeatedly I don't approve of pissing on due process. I don't agree with most of what Trump is doing.

The funny thing is you appear to have just begun to lament the forfeiture of rule of law......... I've been lamenting for a while now. Welcome to the club, check your hypocrisy at the door!

People SHOULD be more mad about ignoring the Supreme Court and individual liberties under the Constitution than they are about immigration. Acting like those are equivalent is one step short of acting like one justifies the other, and is just parroting the admin's propaganda
