The Deportation of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia

You MAGA bumpkins so desperately want to make this a race and gang issue. Here’s the thing partner: it’s all about the Rule of Law and whether or not the executive branch is going to abide by a court order from the judicial branch that unequivocally stated Mr. Garcia was not to be deported to El Salvador.

That is the issue at hand.

As it stands now, the Orangetard admin is in contempt of court. If Trump and his legion of morons doesn’t abide by the judicial branch order, then we have a constitutional crisis.
The rule of law was completely ignored under the last administration and you completely ignored it, I don't understand why it's suddenly a problem now.

I don't like the way Trump is handling this either, I thought Biden was just short of criminally negligent in the way he handled immigration. At least be consistent.

I mean she has a point here Mr Van Hollen

"On Wednesday, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., flew to El Salvador to visit Abrego Garcia in prison and work to secure his release. His trip has been criticized by many, including the mother of Rachel Morrin, a 39-year-old Maryland mother who was raped and murdered by a Salvadoran illegal immigrant in 2023.

"To have a senator from Maryland who didn't even acknowledge, or barely acknowledge, my daughter and the brutal death that she endured, leaving her five children without a mother and now a grandbaby without a grandmother so that he can use my taxpayer money to fly to El Salvador to bring back someone that's not even an American citizen. Why does that person have more rights than I do, or my daughter, or my grandchildren? I don't understand this," she said. "

SPOILER: Trump will fold like a napkin. That’s what he does. SEE: Tariffs. And his whole life.

Mr. Garcia shall return to the US.
Great, it matches the immigration crisis that went completely ignored.

One wouldn't exist without the other.

Whataboutisms.

We are looking forward or backwards here?

Have you seen that judge's order? That's a serious question. Because from that case, I've seen the court order that states that he couldn't be deported to Guatemala, where his family had been terrorized by a rival gang after they'd left ES. But no one can produce an order preventing deportation to El Salvador. This corresponds to his arrest record where he stated that he was here illegally and had no reason to fear going home to ES.

And before we need to cover this, I know a DoJ lawyer mentioned it and said the deportation was a mistake. But that lawyer was also immediately fired from the DoJ, supposedly for making false statements in the filing.

At present, even though the family has now shut down the pupusa business, Barrio 18 continues to harass and threaten the Respondent’s two sisters and parents in Guatemala. Additionally, they have targeted a brother-in-law who now lives with the family.

DHS has failed to carry their burden to show that there are changed circumstances in Guatemala that would result in the Respondent’s life not being threatened, or that internal relocation is possible and reasonable. The facts here show that the Barrio 18 gang continues to threaten and harass the Abrego family over these several years, and does so even though the family has moved three times.

The Respondent’s application for asylum is time-barred without exception. However, he has established past persecution based on a protected ground, and the presumption of a well-founded fear of future persecution. DHS has not shown there are changed circumstances in Guatemala that would result in the Respondent’s life not being threatened, or that internal relocation is possible and reasonable under the circumstances. Therefore, the Respondent’s application for withholding under the Act is granted. Finally, his CAT claim fails because he has not shown that he would suffer torture.

I think he's just pointing out hypocrisy.
You know this whole suggestion that we had some mass immigration problem. Somebody point out the statistics to me so that I understand. Do tell how the mass majority of law abiding tax paying undocumented immigrants here were a problem.

You know, ironically, my business stands to fair even better if we get rid of all the undocumented immigrants in this country because they’re working for peanuts. And the bottom line is I’m gonna raise my rates if they’re gone. Which means you pay for it.

There’s a flipside to your anti-immigrant whiteness.

I don't like Trump's policies. Where were you when this crisis was created? You are looking at the reaction and saying........ See, there's the problem.......

I'm just saying there was already a problem. Your partisanship won't let you attribute similar blame to your more liberal heroes.

I don't have that problem. Trump sucks, Biden was horrible.

They haven't gone after them like that yet, but designating them terrorist organizations gives you more options for police/military action. It's certainly a possibility, on I hope they largely avoid.

My evidence for military style raids or police action having detrimental effects, even being counterproductive are evidenced through Ruby Ridge and Waco. An entire new generation and breed of white nationalist cropped up.

There are better ways to stifle and control criminal gangs like these. The cartels overseas are a little different.
So you have no evidence. Just conjecture.

And for the record, they are flying drones over MX taking intel. They have designated sections of the border as military-owned and are building up military assets there as we type. They have stationed Navy presence on both the Gulf and Pacific sides of MX.

This is all so much so that MX's president came out making strong comments about MX's sovereignty and the fact that they will not permit a foreign nation to act unilaterally without their consent--only to quickly walk that back and state that she wasn't directing that at the US, and they are working with the US.

Pete Hegseth is reported to have told the MX gov't that the US is ready for unilateral action in MX against the cartels.

No. They haven't attacked. But that doesn't mean that the cartel isn't scared ****less with the escalation and the fight that they've picked with the US.

Agree, wholeheartedly. Biden‘s keepers protected him from the public knowing that he was mentally gone. Conversely, Trump wants to be a king.

Is this an attempt to facilitate?

From the article:

The government of El Salvador has refused a request from the Trump administration to consider releasing deported Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia, according to The New York Times.

The most recent developments include CNN reporting that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been in contact with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele about the potential of Garcia's release.

So, you're all for law and order, when it's beneficial and when you agree. Got ya.

Hypocrite.

Well, at least he got some votes to lead, unlike your heroes that conspired to lie to the public and rule from the shadows. Hypocrite.

Because we have laws and standards set to ensure the people coming here have the skills, means to support themselves, don't have criminal or nefarious intent..... among other criteria. Without controls and checks it's the wild west. Ignoring or failing to apply these processes and standards is breaking the law

Those laws and standards are no less or more important than the laws you are lamenting being bent and broken by Trump.

I have a little different thought on how we should handle foreign drug cartels.

My post was more in how we handle internal threats in the US.

Limited precision strikes against high value cartel members or production facilities could be effective but there would be blowback.

I pray that people eventually think this through. An immigration "crisis" that wasn't a crisis for 99% of people is being used as an excuse to just ignore due process with calls to ignore an entire branch of government, and MAGA thinks that is a good and fair and reasonable development

I also don't see the designation as a recruiting boon here. I think you have some work to do to show it in data as well as proving that the comparison to Waco and Ruby Ridge is appropriate.

Yeah sure. Undocumented immigrants entered our country and therefore our President should just be a dictator and decide unilaterally what rights we have, those are definitely equivalent things

Curious. Have you met any undocumented immigrants? Do you know any personally? I do. They’re law abiding citizens. They have wives and children. They pay their taxes because it’s taken out of their ****ing checks.

The majority of them if they’re single send money back to their families in other countries because they love them and they make a lot of money here compared to what they could make there.

There’s reality and then there’s the political ******** crap that assholes like Trump want you to believe.
