I lived resided in the same house with DXH for four months after we formally separated. (Housing is expensive, y’all, especially when both parties are on their ways elsewhere.) The house finally sold maybe a year and a half (?????) later. We split the net equally.

As someone who REALLY hates drama, this worked really well.

Almost 6 months in the same house for me. That actually is probably why we are still friends. We also split 50/50.

She has my wine cellar key. That may not be so good.

I should note that during that year+ after each of us left Tennessee for our new lives, but still owning the house, the actual resident was (initially) my beloved cat, who I was finally able to move to Cali, and (then) a different stray cat great with kitten who gave birth to three kittens under the water heater in the garage on Thanksgiving day. Mom and kittens were distributed among my three kids and continue to love and plague them to this day.

It’s pretty likely that both cats (unrelated to one another) were the most responsible residents that house had seen in a while.

Mine took my little girl. That was like I lost a child of 2 years. And I still have my son and pay child support. We are 50/50 custody. Good Ole state of TN and rights. He took my wife , Daughter , & life. And house.
