+1,000,000,000Pure aloe is best, take it from someone that burns on occasion. Butter is never a good idea, seals in the burn, if just home remedies, mushed up raw .potato will pull out the burn, but it takes awhile (during that time, run to the local drug store and grab some burn cream).
Much respect to those who use the old time recipes, because I grew up on them too, but no butter. Get that burned tissue under cold running water to keep the cooking from going any deeper. (Did I just reverse-sear my hand?)
It looks like most of the burned area is between first and second degree burn, with a nice little white line of third degree burn from the handle edge across the base of my palm, which doesn’t hurt at all, of course. (Cooked the surface nerves.)
DH offered to run to the store, but we’ve both been relaxin’ a bit too much. I’ll go with what I have for now.
Oh well, no biggie in the great scheme of things. Live and learn. For the next few years anyway.
