+1I got off lisinopril because one of it's side affects is a hacking cough. No joke. I got put on that stuff about a year ago and I had this hacking cough that would never go away. I wasn't sick or anything. I tried all kinds of meds. Finally went to an allergist to check for asthma. I told her I was on liprinosil and she told me it causes coughing in some people. Went back to my doctor and he switched my meds. Sure as chit that cough went away almost immediately.
Stick with the exercise, especially walking/something cardioI never would have thought that high blood pressure would give you dementia. I got up to 225 and my heart beats to fast that's why I go to gym I am at 204 now but got high cholesterol and hypertension on antenolo for heart atorvastatin for cholesterol I also have anxiety bad the antenolo helps . At 225 I had obesity and quit drinking cokes and exercise no longer in the obesity area at 204 and my blood pressure is better.
I'm not a big guy, 5'6" abd 155. I got to 165, but when I cut peanut butter I dropped to 150 quickly. I've gained about5 lbs the last several weeks, but not in the waist. It slowly went up as I started using heavier weights, but my waistline got smaller. It's weirdI was 185 and got a office job and shot up to 225 when I quit drinking sodas I lost 10lbs just from water.
My heart beats fast when I exercise. 200 bpm during one of my workouts according to my garmin watch, which isn't realible of course. So I bought a Polar H10 chest strap hrm, and it stays pretty close to what my watch does. Kinda scary. But I haven't died. quit the sugar sodas and the diet sodas 6 years ago -lost 55 pounds -if I drink a soda now its only Coke Zero -- also TFG mentioned salt -- high sodium is is a major cause of high BP as wellOne of the smartest things I have done - granted, the list is short - was to stop drinking sodas back in the early 90s.
