10 yrs plus on lisinopril upped the dosage once. Added hydroclot (or something) about 3 yr ago. Best thing I did was lose about 40
I got off lisinopril because one of it's side affects is a hacking cough. No joke. I got put on that stuff about a year ago and I had this hacking cough that would never go away. I wasn't sick or anything. I tried all kinds of meds. Finally went to an allergist to check for asthma. I told her I was on liprinosil and she told me it causes coughing in some people. Went back to my doctor and he switched my meds. Sure as chit that cough went away almost immediately.

Why didn't your doctor know that in the first place? wtf

I was on bp medication for almost 2 years. After stopping drinking and smoking I no longer have an issue and have been off of medication for over a year. I forget what it was. I'm terrible with medication names.
ACE inhibitor (lisinopril) and diuretic (hydrochlorothyazide) - combo pill. The diuretic is also for fluid retention, something I’ve had as a kid.

True story: while we were camping out upstairs during the remodel, DH’s and my meds got jumbled. For a week, I took his sleep medicine and he took my BP med. He pretty much stopped sleeping more than 2-3 hours a night, while I slept like a baby and gained ten pounds in a week. Once I discovered what had happened and swapped back, he started sleeping again and I lost 11 pounds in 3 days. Whole lotta flushing going on. 🤪

number one killer of americans. Most don't know they have it until they have a stroke
My mother now has vascular dementia because her primary care doc diagnosed her with white coat hypertension. No, she had the real thing, and by the time we found out, she had permanent brain damage (hardening of the cerebral arteries.)

@NorCalVol67, you should find out, especially with your horrendous work schedule. (Also, alcohol raises BP.) You don’t want to wind up in incontinence briefs, writing everything down because you have no idea what you had for lunch ten minutes later.

Meanwhile, I have to finish excavating my recumbent exercise bike...
