The Culinary Arts Thread

That's a good topic @Behr. It's obviously great with angel hair cause all you need is something to pick up some of the sauce.

But if you prefer not to eat pasta, for whatever reason, what are good options?

Discuss.

I'd have angel hair or linguine, their both the right size and I just prefer them over fettuccine made with egg. I haven't used any but the almond flour pasta is supposedly pretty good. Of course the zucchini noodles and squash spaghetti are popular, but I don't care for them.

Black beans would be good. I love cous cous too.

I tried the zucchini (thank you for spelling that for me) noodles, and while they are good for what they are, they're no substitute for pasta. Tried chickpea pasta a while back. Not a fan.

It's hard to find something flavorless enough to use in place of it. Seems the more flavorful the main component is, the easier it is though. I love "nacho toppings" over shredded lettuce. And asian stuff is easy, either cabbage or cauliflour is a great replacement for fried rice.

A lot of it is just what you are used to isn't it.

No, there's no substitute for pasta and I hate giving alternatives that I don't like. Lulz. I don't like any of that crap to replace my pasta.

gots to have "Imported from Italy" on it

I prefer dried pasta 99% of the time. Just a personal taste. I like the flavor and the texture better most always. I don't hate fresh made pasta, I just prefer a quality dried one. GOL.
