I have one. It uses propane tank but has a firebox for wood. It works pretty well and keeps temperature pretty consistent

Yeah, I hate that crap. Imo even if it wasn't so salty it still doesn't taste good.

I only like it with sautéed mushrooms. Other than that I don't add salt to nothing just garlic and parsley.

Dyna GLO. I bought it from Home Depot for about $300. I had a Masterbuilt that I cut my chops on for about 5 years but it started to disintegrate. I think the coated metal on the Dyna GLO is much better quality. This one has plenty of room for all kinds of stuff and it has a separate door for the smoke box which is nice. Keeps you from messing up the temp in the top when u have to add wood. Also has a chimney on top that helps force the smoke upwards and out

The only issue I have is that you don't have to have the gas knob up very high at all to start struggling with it getting too hot, over 230. I've read you can buy regulators that go on your tank that help you get more precise temps but I just figured out how to work mine without

That looks, and sounds ideal for what I want. I just left Lowe's, and they didn't even have a gas one that I saw in the store. May run by home Depot and check. Thanks

Just make sure you get a good thermometer you can place on the rack. I never use the door ones that they come with. They are never accurate. They make really good wireless ones now so you don't have to walk over and check the temp constantly
