When I see how our offense looks with Aguilar vs what we saw with Nico last year, I have to wonder what our offense look like this year if Nico had stayed? Not saying UCLA is ripe with offensive talent, but having a qb like Nico really hamstrings what talent you do have around him. He's not going to make anyone on that offense better, and he's certainly no leader. I'm going to enjoy the fresh air surrounding this years Vol squad regardless of the record. It's like flying in storm clouds then you elevated above them and things are calm and clear. You take a deep breath and are just glad you decided to pull up on that stick and remove yourself from the muck and mire. Some folks can’t be developed. Happens on college and pro’s. Quarterbacks sometimes hit their ceiling and it is what it is.
Joey getting the call from Heup is Charlie finding the golden ticket. I am choosing to celebrate Joey more than continuing to rip Nico.Had Joey stayed at UCLA, he may be starting next week.
In two games, the Tennessee offense has been move creative with JA then all last season with Nicos 10 play package.
Well played, but the like is because I loved that movie.Joey getting the call from Heup is Charlie finding the golden ticket. I am choosing to celebrate Joey more than continuing to rip Nico.

You also can tell a big difference in Hype's demeanor this year as opposed to the past two years. He has a guy who can run the offense the way he needs a qb to run it and not having to scheme around his QB. I am like you who else are we coddling. Is it due to NIL and portal pressure? Sad what those two things have done to NCAA athletics- players use to have to wait their turn and work and develop their way up. That is a life skill that you also learn when you are in a job or at work. You don't start at the top right off for the most part.Glad he is gone, but the fact that Tennessee coddled this experimental project into a third year at the $2 million + rate is concerning, are there other Nico's hidden in our roster that are impairing success in those big games that matterthe most?

Me too, that’s why I said he’d be potentially the starter next week had he stayed.Joey getting the call from Heup is Charlie finding the golden ticket. I am choosing to celebrate Joey more than continuing to rip Nico.

Good grief. Two vastly different situations and vastly different skill sets, not to mention Hurts won multiple championships as QB. Hurts had the “it” factor they day he arrived at Bama. This writer needs a drug intervention.Crazy how fans can convince themselves of just about anything

How Nico Iamaleava can be the next Jalen Hurts
Hurts transferred from Alabama to Oklahoma, and likewise, Iamaleava transferred to UCLA following a season as a starter at Tennessee. As the starting quarterbacgojoebruin.com
I’m glad he’s gone, but I can’t dump on him too much without feeling bad. He’s a human being and he’s young. He’s been indoctrinated with constant praise and pats on the back and butt slaps that he’s gonna be taking in millions by the fist fulls. Had he stayed here, I kinda think he would’ve lost the starting job soon anyway, but Heupel is very good to his players. Coach really takes care of his players and he may have sent Nico on a better path anyway. Nico’s media coverage is about to end and that will be that and it’s sad. We all hated Tebow back then, but I really like the guy now and the reason he was good at football then and is good at life is because he was raised right. Nico just didn’t have that.
