The Cold Hard Truth About Fulmers Future!

I'm a VASF donor and many of the above posts are correct. I'll continue to make my donation even if we lose all remaining games and no coaching changes are made for next season. UT won't stay down forever and I don't want to lose the seats. I would think anyone with decent seats will do the same, and since almost all seats in the stadium are decent seats, then I see little drop off in VASF support. However, if we continue to lose and no corrective actions are taken, I'm sure there will be plenty of VASF donor seats next year occupied by fans from opposing teams. Unless things change, orange could be a minority color in Neyland Stadium by the time GA visits next fall.

And I'm curious, I've been paying my blackmail ransom for ticket rights for 18 years now, and not once has anyone in the administration sought my input as a booster, yet they send me pamphlets several times a year telling me what I can and can't do as a booster. I'm 6'0" and pushing 270, this I consider myself a pretty big booster. Just how big of a booster does one have to be before they are "in the know"? Right now, all I know is what I read here on VolNation.

No one knows what is going to happen at season's end right now. And anyone who says they have "inside" information to the contraty is lying or delusional.

When will Hamilton start interviewing the top coaching candidates? He better not wait too long.

The only way you will be heard is to quit pumping money into the program...just a fact.

I am sick to my stomache. I too think this could be true. Fulmer has Mike Hamilton in his back pocket. Fulmer was the one instrumental in getting him Hamilton the AD job. Haslam, owner of Pilot, who donated 30 million is also good friends with Fulmer. Who knows?

I agree with the post about contributions. I myself have not be able to afford contributions. If, I had the money. I wouldn't give a cent to UT. As long as they keep Fulmer as the Head Coach. All of the people who can afford to give UT donations, should stop giving!

If, Fulmer stays next year. Lots of contributors stop donating. And, the attendance is down 10,000 to 15,000 per game. A change will be made. This will be the first year I have attended no home game at UT.

It is simple people. STOP GIVING CONTRIBUTIONS, AND STOP GOING TO THE GAMES! And, a change will happen soon.

What I am about to say is not speculation its reality. I have been a donor for 15 years now and I annually give $4,000 to $7,500. And during this time I have became friends with the majority of the alumni and major contributors. And as sick to my stomach as it makes me these are the cold hard facts from what I have gathered.

1. Zero Chance of a any coaching changes at any position till year end.

2. And this one makes me almost vomit. Coach Fulmer will be our coach for at least 2-3 more seasons.

3. Coach Clawson as well as 4-5 other asst. coaches will be dismissed season end.

4. Tennessee has a short and I mean very short list of any suitable replacements. Mainly because the majority of the head coaches that are capable of running a top notch program have an average age of 52-57. The university has no interest to hire anyone over the age of 45 simply because if a coaching change is made at the top they want someone who can lead the program for a minimum of 12-15 yrs.

5. The University has no intention at this time in spending the $5.25 to $6 million it would cost to buy out the remaining part of Coach Fulmers contract.

6. And as long as myself and the tens and tens of thousands of others kept spending their hard earned money in support of Coach Fulmer no changes will ever be made. That is why after this year I will no longer support the university or Mike Hamilton.
Stop it ....PLEASE!:furious3::furious3::furious3:

At least 6'6 325 is what I've heard.

j/k

I hope you start getting a better return on your investment soon. For now, we'll just have to settle for the other trappings of the Tennessee football experience (in Hambone's words), presumably the cold hot dogs, nightmare traffic and celebrations of championships a decade before.

FYI, if any of you read up on ANY of the facts that Fulmer has had in his 16, goin on 17, years of coaching, there is no way any of you can say he is a bad coach. He has done several amazing things in his time here and personally i believe he will stay for a while. The fact that he has ONE bad season and you all want him fired is what makes me sick. Nothing but a bunch of wish-washy fans and i find it ridiculous. In all honesty, if Fulmer gets fired (which i don't see happening) then who will replace him?? really! there is no one out there that can do as well with our, or at least MY, team as he has and i support him 100%!!!!!!!!

He has been a mediocre coach since the day he was hired. if you look at his body of work you will see that Fulmer wilts in big games. We won the MNC in '98 in spite of BFP not because of him.

Do you have selective memory? He's on the verge of having two losing non-bowl years in four years. That will get you a pink slip in any of the top programs in the country.

The biggest money making thing on major college campuses is FOOTBALL. Flabby Phil is the "CEO". When a major corporation's stock goes flat, it's time for a change of leadership. Flabby has no "vision" for the program. Bible says..."Where there is no vision, the people perish." He talks a good game to cover his butt. I have been a fan of UT since 1964. Surely, there must be someone in the coaching world who can "revive" our football program. It's time to tape a "nickle" to Flabby's butt and send him down the road talking to himself. That way, we can say we lost something.

Considering a rumor the other day was that Hamilton had a 6M check in his hand donated by a single booster, I'll take this post with a grain of salt. The fact is that almost every radio personality in the state seems to think a change is soon to come. That isn't something they toss around loosely and that is something big.

I have to say....this is the most realistic "inside" information I've seen yet...

People on here are at their wits end and we are seeing "inside source" threads about Fulmer being gone popping up left and right...

But I've always felt that the people who call the shots aren't as fed up as we are and are willing to let Fulmer hang around and continue to throw assistants under the bus...if for no other reason than to avoid the massive and embarassing buyout that would be required due to the ridiculous contract Hamilton threw at Fulmer last year

While I don't have any "inside" knowledge and the thread starter might have some valid points, there is one that I think is simply ridiculous. Specifically,

2. And this one makes me almost vomit. Coach Fulmer will be our coach for at least 2-3 more seasons.

Hamilton has already publicly stated that apathy is a program killer and will not be allowed to happen. While the jury is out on whether Fulmer will be back next year (either possibility wouldn't surprise me that much), if he has another season like this one he will certainly be fired. Failure to do so would almost guarantee that apathy will set up like concrete.
