It seems that losing to Butch Jones has become a curse for head coaches. Every 'big' game Jones has won at UT has resulted in the coach retiring, being fired, or finding the hot seat. Even Ferentz was on life support during the off season.

Time to go get Nick SaTan and Jim McElwain!

Go Big Orange!

Does it take a couple of years for this curse to work it's way in?

USCe 2013 sure took a while to manifest.

As a resident of GA I can tell you that they blame UT for everything. If Kirby is a bust they will no doubt blame Richt's firing on us

Jones beats losing coaches, not winners. This has been his pattern at Cincy, and UT. So it makes sense that losing or underperforming coaches that lose to Jones eventually lose their jobs.

What you are observing is a correlation, not a cause effect.

Calling Richt and Spurrier losing coaches is pretty ridiculous, sorry

If that's the case, then he's milked that formula for multiple conference championships, a coach of the year award, and a head coaching position at a top-10 all-time power school. He's such a terrible coach.

Iowa really under performed this year didn't they? ... and South Carolina went 11-2 in 2013 under Spurrier. That was one of their best seasons ever. Great post, man.

Jones was 2-1 vs Charlie Strong while at Cincy and Strong was at Louisville ('10-'12). Strong was such a loser there, he was hired by Texas. This was a dumb post.

Too late now.

Folks 'round these parts are way too serious. Need to lighten up a bit.

For example, in the PF we are talking about someone going in for a surgical procedure that's going to turn him into a horse. I mean, we don't use blue font because we all know that's not possible. Or at least I don't think it's physically possible.

Anyway, the FF needs to lighten up a tad and recognize sarcasm for what it is.

Dude that is just wrong, it's going to be Sumlin that gets fired next year after we beat him, not Saban

I live here also, and I've heard at least once a day since the game that "Tennessee cheated cause they hurt Chubb".

So the Ole Ball Coach's top 5 team in 2013 was CBJ beating a "losing coach"?

Not showing your bias huh?:thud:

2 exceptions do not make a rule. Look at the entire record.

Coaching is a profession of losing. There is 1 Nick Saban, and outside of him - most coaches would give a left nut to average 8-4 for their career. 7-5 is above average. Spurrier and Richt were 2 of the winningest coaches in modern college football. Your point is invalid, and agenda is obvious.

That being said: I think Stoops at KY, Mason at Vandy, and Sumlin at aTm all have a chance to be replaced after next season. We'll do the same thing to KY and Vandy 5 years from now.
