I can't stand Travis but he's spot on in that article.

If Bruce is rehired, it will do for our basketball program what the return of Coca-Cola Classic did in the aftermath of New Coke. Excitement would be higher than it ever was when he was here. The publicity would not stop and would garner attention during a football season where we are too young to win big. This could be the placeholder story to keep UT in the limelight, make them a great deal of money, and hopefully would result in basketball and football experiencing the postseason again.
You know these opportunities only come along so often. In this case every 2000 years. Considering where our basketball program is we need to put Bruce in a white robe and let him ride a donkey up I-40 lined with palm branches all the way from Roane County to TBA.
But considering what happened to the last guy that was treated that way Bruce may be a little hesitant.
next year will be much worse. He lied. He lied over something extremely stupid. I don't trust Pearl. I understand everyone else can look past that and only see wins/losses, but I'm unable to get past it myself. Do I want a winning basketball program? Absolutely. Do I think Pearl's the only one who can accomplish that? Absolutely not. There are other coaches who can bring similar or better qualities to UT. I'd rather make them say no than just give it back to Bruce.
But I'm not the decision maker. First, Hart has to decide the fate of CCM. Personally, I know I'm frustrated with the results this year, but I honestly sit on the fence as to whether or not CCM deserves more time. Part of me says it's time for him to go, but part of me wonders if one more year lets him turn it around. I just don't know.
But if Hart does let CCM go and simply gives the program back to Pearl, I won't be happy. Bruce tarnished our beloved UT over a petty contact violation. All he had to do was admit it. Slap on the wrist and he's still the coach of the Vols. But that's not what he did. He exercised poor decision making skills, and I honestly don't believe that point can be argued. I won't lie and say if Pearl was rehired I wouldn't eventually become a supporter again, but it would take more than wins to bring me around. He'd have to run a tight ship and avoid any and all violations. Inability to do that would leave me convinced that he didn't learn his lesson. And if he hasn't learned his lesson, I don't want him at UT in any position. JMO

"Aaron Craft was a victim," Pearl said.
It all came down to a photo of Craft and Pearl, one taken at Pearl's house back in 2008. It was against NCAA rules for Pearl to host the trio on an unofficial visit. No one still quite knows who faxed the picture to the NCAA, but it wound up being Pearl's undoing. When questioned by the NCAA, Pearl initially lied and said he didn't know where it was taken.
"It was my responsibility to protect his eligibility and say we'd love to have you over the house, but you cannot," Pearl said. "I didn't do that. He's a victim."
"We've honestly never felt like the victims," Craft's father, John, told CBSSports.com. "It was a bad set of circumstances, but there's no ill feelings. We have no bad thoughts about the man."
Backatcha.
As I said, it was my impression of reading numerous articles like this one.

I've explained plenty regarding Coach Martin's on the floor performance and let's be honest, In the SEC, 1.3 Million is low dough. Nobody's in jail, and the Vols are on track to get to 20 games and an NIT at worst...they are getting what they paid for and wanted BASED ON THE GUYS EXPERIENCE. Which you and many others keep glossing over or forgetting completely. I'm not happy with it, don't know how many more times I can say it or respond to the "settling for mediocrity" charge.
I'm not worried about Martin's feelings, I'm worried about his family and the players having to see this petition crap, or the promotional visa card crap, or hearing the former assistant on the radio implying that their dad is doing it wrong, and ...it's a low rent, classless, win at all cost, frontrunner attitude.
Can't it wait seven games, what's the harm in that?
I ask you again.... who wants Martin fired now? Most people with their heads not up Martin's backside realize the wheels are coming off. There is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing that on a message board. If these message board discussions bother coach Martin he should stay off message boards and in all honesty should probably change professions.
