Would you be for Bruce Pearl's return if Martin is fired after next year?

This. It's crazy how much people forgot how awful his offense looked and how he couldn't recruit a solid pg. Maze is the only pg he got that was any good. I thought most of his recruiting classes were overrated. Yes he got Tobias. But a lot of his other classes included Swiperboy's and Hall's that somehow were 4 stars and made the class ranked higher than it should have been. I really loved his first few years but I think Pearl was really starting to decline.

How can you say that when his last recruiting class was possibly his best one and the second to last yr was his best season that he had.

Wasnt counting that one since he didnt actually get to finish that class but if u all want to name the season that pearl was being suspended and fired(of his own doing) as a decline in his ability as a coach then so be it.

I was talking about his class that he actually finished recruiting....T Harris, J Mcrae, and T Golden.

I don't understand how this thread is still relevant.

With that being said, you're crazy if you wouldn't take BP back as our head coach. I support Martin and I'm in no way saying that he should be fired (yet), but if that were to happen and Bruce is available and willing then do it. Unless you have a problem with winning and doing it consistently.

Honestly though I'm worried that Alabama may scoop him up because I don't see Grant lasting much longer there.

Well u had 2 guys in the 20's and a guy ranked 34 in pearls second class and 130 ranked guy(which I feel those guys are completely hot and miss) and a 2 star.

His second to last class was number 7, 47, and 63.... I would give a slight edge to pearl's second class but his second last one turned out to be the best one in hindsight.

If not wanting to re-hire a coach that was fired for lying and telling his assistants to do the same, and was deemed unhireable for two years makes me crazy. I guess I'm crazy.

Yep that Pearl offense was overrated , and his recruiting was questionable his last few years. Amazed he got the Vols to the Tournament all 6 years he was here.

It's like some people think all there is to the game is to recruit well and you win.

Pearl knew how to get his team to perform. He knew how to build a winning program. That is what I want out if a coach, no more, no less. Championship ball.

All anybody is saying is that it was only overrated if you talk about it as if it was Loyola-Marymount from the 90s.

When Stallings underachieves again, watch out for Vandy. I could see them grabbing CBP before Bamma.

Either way him coaching in the SEC and not being for UT would suck. A lot of people on here would be singing a different tune after he layed the smack down on Martin a few times.

No one on here can honestly say Martin is a better coach than Bruce.

The next time you lie to the governing body of your employer (IRS, health department, etc) and your actions result in you being fired, try going back to them 4 years later and tell them you can be hired again. See how well that works for you.
