Because he was an electrifying coach who quickened the fanbase and made basketball fun? Oh, he also won games and took them further than they've been before. Hmmm, maybe because he's passionate about Tennessee and loves the school.

Wow! 44 likes!

No doubt most, by far would love to have Pearl back. I say it's crazy not to.

I'm looking to organize a campaign and hopefully even several marches to bring Bruce back! We as a fan base need to show that we still stand behind OUR coach, who was done WRONG!!!! He is OUR coach! He is UT basketball!! He deserves to be back home after what the NCAA unjustly did to him!! We all know that Bruce had a target on him from years back when he complied with the NCAA and people lost their jobs. People were after him and they finally got him. We aren't taking it ANYMORE!! Yes he lied and he should be given a second chance!! He was set up by Ohio State and you could tell the college basketball fraternity was out to get him. They hated Pearl and still do!! It may even involve racism!!

WE LOVE YOU BRUCE AND WILL CONTINUE THE GOOD FIGHT UNTIL YOU ARE BACK IN YOUR BIG ORANGE BLAZER!!!!!

If Cuonzo doesn't take us to at least the round of 32 then I will no longer be in his corner. At that point I would be in favor of Bruce coming back. I do wonder who his assistants would be, seeing as Forbes and Shay hate his guts now. Being a realist though, I see Tennessee being scared to be the first school to give Bruce a coaching job when he is allowed back.I could see if in a few more years a coaching change is necessary then we call Bruce if his nose has stayed clean.

Are you serious?? Lets wait til this year is over and if we don't make the tourney ill sign whatever you want signed and march in whatever I need to march in, but only if we don't make the tourney

Have not followed Tennessee basketball since my man, Bruce left. Would take him back today. Lies or no lies. " Let he who is without sin cast the first stone ".

Anybody that participates in any such activity mentioned while Half season is still our coach might as well be spitting in our players face.

This has to be a Troll job. Despite the stupidity sometimes displayed on this board, I refuse to believe that there are UT fans who legitimately think, feel, and would act in this manner.

Considering that Frank Haith's transgression (buying a player) at Miami was far greater than Bruce's little white lie and that all Frank suffered was a virtual slap on the wrist from the great and powerful Oz (I mean Mark Emmert), then the right thing for the ncaa to do now would be to dissolve the show-cause penalty on Bruce Pearl so that he can get back into coaching, where he rightfully belongs, post haste. I won't hold my breath till that happens, of course. When has the ncaa ever been known to do the right thing or admit to their own mistakes? I like Cuonzo as a person, but he clearly is in over his head in trying to coach a program that had been made relevant again under the leadership of Coach Pearl and needed to keep that momentum going in order to maintain viability in the SEC. Although Cuonzo came in with a relatively strong resume, he hasn't turned out to be the man who could take over the reins and keep the Vols at a high level of basketball prominence. Even though we now have a pretty stout roster, we aren't going to knock off Kentucky, or even Florida, and possibly not even any of the other contenders in the conference, anytime soon. Hell, we might not even do well enough to qualify for the Big Dance if that first game against Xavier is any indication. We all know in our hearts that Bruce Pearl, without the albatross of an ncaa investigation over his head, would 'bring sexy back' to Knoxville and lead this roster of players to contention for first place in the SEC and a deep run in the Big Dance in March if given the chance. I've heard that the big-money supporters of the UT basketball program are champing at the bit to bring Bruce Almight back to the post that he should have never been forced to relinquish. Fortunately, their dollars speak louder than the rhetoric of the negateers who would rather see the program languish in mediocrity for time immemorial rather than back under the leadership of the one man who we all know could and would get the job done. Go Vols!

Things probably worked out in Pearl's favor. He will work again. Had he stayed I believe he would have traveled down the Fulmer path. As witnessed here he is still and will always be a cult hero. His program was already on the decline and the Pearl era would have ended just as the Fulmer era did.

It was universally accepted that Pearl had gained enough creed that he was in on the very top recruits. He had just landed Harris and was in on some even bigger fish for the next season. I think Pearl was on the front end of a Tom Izzo type of program.

Just hope if Pearl comes back that he passes on the Swiperboy's and Halls. I remember he had a class of Hall and Goins lol. But who cares as long as they are a 4 star he should take them...

Should we list the bust his predecessor recruited??

It's a more damning list.

Don't get me wrong, I like Cuanzo but lets say he doesnt work out...what are the odds that Bruce returns?

About the same as Fulmer or Majors returning to take over the head football coaching reigns.

This has been discussed ad nauseam; the answer is not going to change.
