Would you be for Bruce Pearl's return if Martin is fired after next year?

Some people hate Pearl.
Some people love Pearl.
Some people appreciate what be did here but at the same time recognizing he was responsible for his own demise.
When your team is not playing at the level you want it's fun to remember the good ole days. I seriously doubt either side will convince the other that their side is right so rather than insult the other side shy not just ignore the thread and let those that want to reminisce do so without all the back and forth bickering?

Maybe they should "reminisce" without insulting the current coach. It goes both ways.

It's their opinion. I don't agree with most of it either but I respect their right to have it. You don't find me frequenting a Hells ANGELS bar because I don't share much in common with them and I'd probably get killed lol. People that don't want to read about Pearl probably should avoid the Pearl thread.

It is. This the most polar fan base I have ever seen. Absolutely no middle ground. If you like pearl you must hate Cuonzo. If you like Cuonzo you must hate Pearl. If you question anything you've done the equivalent of murdering their spouse. Very little constructive discussion unfortunately.

I could start a thread about why grass is green and it would eventually turn into a Pearl/Martin debate. I admit I am a Pearl fan, but CM deserves another year. I don't want a coaching change every few years, so it's to everyone's benefit if CM is successful.

Bobby Knight did things far, far worse than Bruce and he got another chance. Someone will give Bruce a second chance also. Hide and watch. That school could be UT; it is no secret he would rather coach again at UT than anywhere else. He loves UT like Phil Fulmer does.

That is not to say I hope Cuonzo fails. I hope he has a very successful year next year at UT and takes us to the NCAA. But if not, Bruce is available, and there is no one else like him. He is one of the game's best and that is proven. Cuonzo may prove to be also. I hope so.

The fact is, I want to see UT win impressively again in bball and football because the losing is killing all of us. That's why we argue.

I don't care about the lie to the NCAA. Didn't care then, don't care now. Give Cuonzo next year and if he doesn't make the NCAA, bring bruce home. WTF is the NCAA going to do? Look where Miami bball team is tonight and tell me the NCAA carries the weight it once did.

I have a very strong feeling that for you and most of the other "Bring Bruce Home" guys, even if Martin makes the NCAAT next year, it won't be enough to shut you up.

When will I shut up? The day Cunozo shows me his team can consistently do any of the following; defend a high ball screen, play a modicum of ANY zone D, defend against a quality PG dribble-drive, execute a timely entry pass to the post, teach Stokes how to pass out of a double team, execute a critical 'set play' out of a time out, set the pace of play instead of letting the opponent dictate it....

Cuonzo's got a great story. He was a helluva fine player. He's a man of character and a wonderful father. He is not yet a good coach who should get one more year to show progress.
