I'm sure the Pearl haters and Cuonzo lovers will drill you on this thread, but I think it is a very reasonable thought. Pearl got the job done and no one can argue that. Cuonzo will have PLENTY of talent and experience to make the tournament next year. If he fails then CBP will be back in orange, book it. GO VOLS!

Name one example where a coach flat out lied to the NCAA, was banned for three years, and then he returned to the same school.
There are no examples because it simply does not happen.
Lying to the NCAA is a big deal...a big deal. Or, at least, getting caught is a big deal.
Agreed. Pearl loves this university, and there's not a better coach available.
Do people not know how the American Sports Redemption Cycle works? First he spends a year unemployed, then he comes back on TV for awhile. Then he takes a job at a lower level program for awhile. Once he wins there, THEN the soft-focus ESPN profiles about his Bruce Pearl's redemption start, officially making him eligible for a serious job again. He's not going to just jump right into a major-conference job next year. He's got to go through the whole cycle of shame first.
I don't think so. I think he's much more publically excepted than Bob Knight and his incidents happened 30 years ago. The difference with Bruce is that he issued a public apology and it was actually sincere. I'm not saying that he will replace coach Martin but I also don't think it's a ridiculous thought.
