Would you be for Bruce Pearl's return if Martin is fired after next year?

It's like you guys talking about Pearl coming back don't even bother to read.

Do you guys seriously not understand WHY he's not coming back? It has zero to do with his coaching ability, his availability, none of that. As I said, take out UT and insert ANY other school in the exact same scenario, they would never hire Pearl back.

Pearl has the same shot at coming back to UT as Lane Kiffin does.

Geez, don't blow a gasket.

I didn't say UT would take him back, I said I would take him back.

Old school right here. One of my dads favorites.

He hasn't committed yet but all indications seem to be Larry Austin will commit today at 4pm. Or were you callin me on counting chickens b4 their hatched?

People lie constantly.

They lie to the government when they do their taxes...Not me - did you pay that state sales tax on your on-line purchases last year.

They lie in court, heck the court encourages the defendant to say nothing instead of tell the truth.

Honey, do these jeans make my arse look fat? No, all those cookies you ate are doing that

Now young man, what are your intentions with my daughter before you take her on a date....

It doesn't matter if you would, it's not happening. It's like saying you'd gladly go out on a date with Jessica Alba; nice thought, but nowhere near the realm of possibility.

And I seriously doubt everyone posting they would take him back are just proclaiming that just because, it's clear many here think deep in their heart of hearts Pearl is going to be walking the court at TBA soon.

It doesn't matter what anyone on a message board would do...that's sort of a silly argument.

In my heart of hearts I think its more likely CCM finishes with a top 15 recruiting class and makes it to the sweet 16 or deeper this season than Pearl is coming back to UT, but I do think other schools will be happy to give him a second chance.

These are horrible horrible examples. The first two aren't even lies at all.

As usual, you're wrong. Clay Travis is to trolling UT in the media, as you are to trolling UT on VolNation.
BS. Clay Travis is a UT fan. I have attended many UT games (unwillingly) with my buddy who was in the media department with UT and have spoken to Clay every time. Even if he was trolling, how could you deny anything he wrote? It was all pretty much spot on. If I was a UT fan, I would definitely have thought it was funny

How funny you've avoided a certain thread lol

It will be rough seeing him on another team's bench if someone decides to hire him.

That was actually a very good read.

It will be tough watching him succeed elsewhere. As much as I hate what he did to ruin it for the fans, I just as much loved what he did for Tennessee basketball. I was a huge Tennessee basketball fan long before Bruce Pearl, and I'll continue to be a huge Tennessee basketball fan long after, but he made it special again, and I won't forget or ignore the mostly good he did amidst the bad.

Do I feel he deserves another shot somewhere else? Sure. Life is about redemption. I don't think that shot should be at Tennessee. He lost that privilege.

I didnt say it would be rough for BTO.....Im well aware of your dislike of the man, I like him even more since he lost his job....to each his own.

You made the statement sound like it was kind of a general feeling, was just saying I didn't feel that way. On the flip sid, I'm well aware of your love for the man, but as you said to each their own, no hard feelings.

As for the bolded, I did find that interesting...any reasoning behind that, or just an unexplainable feeling?

Im definitely a Tennessee fan and not a Bruce Pearl fan..... I do miss how fun it was when he was here......I will be here through the good and bad times....I remember sitting in TBA hearing it echo during the Wade Houston years.....I did have really good seats though LOL

His support of CCM and this program, the way he still talks Tennessee up and does not make himself a distraction to tennessee sports. He made a costly mistake, one that I feel was severely over punished.

I just like the way he handled himself after he was fired.

Agree with that. Not many people could've handled that situation much better than he did.

Excellent read. To be honest with you I don't like him even being in South Carolina because before he was fired I predicted South Carolina, Auburn or another SEC school would pick him up and then proceed to kick our buts twice a year. Say what you want about the man, but he sure could motivate and get the best out of his players. It will be hard watching him coach another team.
