You lose any and all credibility with this statement. Doug Dickey is why UT basketball sucked for 25 years. He hired freakin' Wade Houston, Kevin O'Neil, PASSED on Bill Self, hired Jerry Green, and Buzz Peterson.

Give me a freakin' break.

You have to enter a Pearl thread because it spills into other threads? That's logical.

Honestly the pro Pearl and anti Pearl people are both semi crazy, to those of us that don't debate it every day for hours upon end. Most people know the chances of him coming back are slim, some of us know the pro guys are never changing their minds. When it happens in a regular thread I get it, but going in to a Pearl thread to argue doesn't make sense.

The fact that I of all people is trying to be the voice of reason says how crazy everyone is. Lol

Ray was a good coach and I followed him his entire career here at Tennessee, but longevity does not make a coach great. Pearl took us to new heights never achieved before.

Seriously, I am all for rehiring Pearl, however I am all for getting anyone at this point, provided they have a proven track record and someone that can excite me. I get the fact that there are other coaches that can win besides Pearl.

You certainly have the right to that opinion, but if you break down who's arguing logic and facts versus pure emotion, it's not hard to see who's bringing less to the table.

No coach with a show cause has ever been rehired by a major college program, and only 1 has been hired as a head coach period; unless you count a MAC program as "major".

No coach with a show cause has ever rehired by the program that fired them.

To my knowledge, no major program has ever rehired a coach they fired period.

Nah I know Bruce, I've been to his house, worn his snuggie and had chicken noodle soup there. Lol Seriously I loved Bruce while he was here, he took our program to heights ot hadn't ever been before. He made a stupid mistake lying, but who of us haven't? And I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat. That being said, I think it's slim to none that he comes back. But I'm not God so idk that for 100% sure and none of us do. Maybe Martin goes on a crazy winning streak and saves his job, who the hell knows. I just don't get why people get so crazy over it from both sides.

That's not an opinion, those of us that are not pro or anti Pearl are in fact driven crazy by you all. Lol There is no logic when you constantly bang your head against a wall. They believe what they believe and that isn't going to change. Arguing the fact repeatedly only makes it worse not better.

This is what I am talking about with your facts. He doesn't coach in the MAC. He coaches in the MEAC. And due to the mess the NCAA made with Haith and the probability that the next hit and miss hire will cost us another 3 to 4 years in the swamp of mediocrity is getting to be a little hard for fans to swallow. We were told this same crap before Pearl was fired and I said we wouldn't go to the tourney during Pearl's show cause. We should have kept him and took whatever the NCAA handed down. We have done so well in the post season the last two years anyway.

The funny thing about the anti Pearl guys that gripe about all the Pearl threads, is they make Pearl threads to prove their point. Then they question why people can't let it go.

Ok, a typo. The point of what I posted remains, unless you think a typo makes all that I posted null and void.
