The bama smack talk thread that turned into an education debate

GA:
I teach High School English 10th-12th and a college prep course for Honors kids at a 3A. I coach everything played under the sun and some sports that arent.

z:
your right.

I teach Geometry: Concepts, College Bound and Honors...I got out of coaching to spend more time w/ my girls. I don't envy you on coaching so much. It was great before I had a family, but now I can't spend that much time away even though I miss it.

I like the old Zuter better.:naughty:

As far as something intelligent to discuss, here is my take:

UT: depends on which team shows up...the one that got hammered by UF or the one that hammered UGA

UA: we're pretty consistent through most of our games...much less variance. However, I'd prefer that we play at the upper end of that continuum.

I expect this game to unfold very much like the MSU game. It is going to an all out trench battle, and one of these teams will win the fourth quarter.

No, this week is just too important to waste on work.

haha i agree, i did all my grades during fall break so i wouldnt have anything to as far as school work, im already in game mode, we have our championship game this thursday, so this week is definatly a time to kill... some beers this weekend

see the new thread i posted...it's not my stuff, but still good.

It was a nice comparison. One thing that you may read about this week is Britton Colquitt. He has been kicking off and drastically improving our field position by limiting the field position of opponents.

It may not seem like much, but in our earlier contests, it seemed that every opposing team was beginning drives from the UT 40 yard line. Field position will be everything in the upcoming matchup.

It's the 7th week of the season here and I'm worn slap out. We didn't get a Fall Break, or actually it will be given with Thanksgiving so that we'll have a whole week off. I'll be in Gatlinburg that weekend for my 10th anniversary...we had plans of a bigger, much more expensive trip, but then, as usual, life happens.

If Arenas can get to the open field a little I think we can nullify any advantage in kicking. Of course, Fulmer is smart enough not to kick to him, so I guess we'll be starting at the 20s.

I'm not one of the UA fans dissatisfied with him. The numbers don't alarm me. Each game we've lost we very easily could've won. The same can't be said for all of your losses.

I'm sorry, I must have missed the Alabama vs. anyone in the top 10 games this year. Western Carolina? Houston? Florida St.? Go play Florida and Cal and then we'll talk about games you could have won. Oh, but you have another tough non-conference game this year against UL of Monroe. What a joke of a schedule.

Not true, this rivalry w/ UT is just an hors d'ouvre to the main dish. No offense, but ya'll aren't thought of except for 1 week out of the year...AU is 52 weeks out of the year.

I'm sure Logan Young would have agreed wholeheartedly.

I don't want to argue w/ you. UT has Ark St., USM, and LA Laf. SoS is relatively close...UT= 31, UA = 39. Not a strong argument on your part.

Football, QB's and help with speacial teams, mostly. I'll have basketball soon and track in the spring. Keep your head up as far as teaching goes. It can be overwhelming, you are obviously aware of that already, but dont let it control you. Take time to relax. Saturday will be my way of calming down...kinda.

Wrong. If UT played bama's schedule than they would be undefeated. It only takes 1 loss to change a season and UT put a team in Cal on their schedule that could win while bama scheduled Western Carolina. Florida St. flat out stinks and Houston is weak too.

We'll be in TN Friday night and Saturday. My daughter has a swim meet in Manchester. I love going to TN and it's my favorite state in the union to visit, but I'm a BAMA fan. My grandpa was offered a full ride to play football for UT in the late 20s and turned it down to work in a sawmill. That's back when education wasn't nearly as important. He played for the Alcoa Tornados and according to him gave them that name.

Im offically calling a truce with you Zuter. You teach public school. There is a respect that is unspoken between educators. I hope my team beats your team. Thats it.

Touche'...I'll go for that. I don't dislike UT anyway (that in itself has caused me much grief w/ other Bama fans)...I just want them to lose this Saturday.
