I have noticed an out lashing of negative thinking since the orange and white game... I thought given the weather conditions, and last years record, we had one hell of a turn out. Heck only 12,000 showed up for the game in 98. If you look at it with a knowledge of history it was one of our best turn outs we have ever had. It just lacked the fan fair, and i really do contribute it to the weather. Without a jacket it was hard to enjoy the game. The link shows the attendance of the orange and white game since 1961.

Weather was miserable. And to make things worse I went from the game to a cave. So I went from cold and windy to cold and muddy and a faint odor of bat crap.

I for one felt embarrassed by the poor turn out. Alabama attend. was announced at over 90,000 and Arkansas looked pretty full too! But then again, team didn't look very good either! Was hoping for a better showing.

you do realize that the attendance of 35k was good, right?

there have only been like 2 or 3 spring games in UTs history with more than that lol.

Plus you have to remember (sorry if mentioned already) the upper deck was closed so even if the weather had been nicer and more people had come we still could not have filled the stadium.

I went, it was my first time in tennessee. I loved it, loved finally seeing my VOLS and meeting the players. Worth the 9 hour drive and would do it again, no matter what the weather is..

Say what you want but a cold windy day in Tennessee is a whole lot better than a bright sunny day in Alabama. The weather will get better in Tennessee, but they're still scum.

I was there. The weather was not that bad. What was bad was the game.

It was the first Spring Game I've been to. Anytime I can see the Vols play it's worth the 6 hour drive.

Kudos to you sir. Being less than 30 minutes away, many of us take going to Neyland for granted. 9 hours for a glorified practice is being a fan. Hope you enjoyed our great state!

I loved it, such a beautiful state. I do think fans take for granted that the live close to the university, and don't fully appreciate seeing the VOLS.... It was a dream come true, and have a lot of memories that I will cherish, I'm actually thinking about moving down once my daughter is done with school..
