As I lounge here in sunny, San Diego i started having memories of yesteryear football seasons. The chill of autumn, and the smell of dogs burgers on the tailgate grills.

Sometimes i miss home. I think about those beautiful Smokey Mountains. I've beem around the world, and theres nothing like it.

Thats what the game in Bristol will encompass. I've volunteered at that race track before. Great atmosphere and add UT football to that mix! And their opponent is another team from the same Appalachian region with a great deal of their own traditions.

Its just going to be a beautiful experience. I envy you all that are going.

I think it's going to be an experience. The largest game ever.... Will be loud.

But let's be honest with ourselves. It's not going to be 102 thousand in Neyland beating Florida loud.

No, Oregon and Autzen stadium would be louder too.

But, the overall experience is what I envy.
The HUGE tailgate thats gonna happen. The beautiful drive up to Bristol.
Seeing all those people and all of them there for the spectacle.

Then theres the actual game! Our Vols are going to shine. But V-tech will pull out all the stops and will fight like hell to stay in the game.

San Diego..... where people want to live and vacation

Bristol is where you want to leave

This place is something else lol.

Beach, mountains, big city, but not too big. Mexico and its secret beauty is a short drive away.
I just came back from a short vacation from Wine Country. Yeah its nice out. But very expensive...

Thats one thing I miss about TN. Cheap to live, and very quiet. Safe. I always start to miss East Tennessee around this time of the year.

When the leaves turn Burnt orange and football is full swing! Nothing like it...

Doesn't San Diego translate to "Whales vagina"?
Why would you want to live there? LOL

I grew up in that part of the state and still have kinfolk there.
As they tell me every time I come home to visit, Bring plenty of Redneck Repellent.

Not sure. I've been meaning to do that. There and Mazatlan. Take a 15 min drive to Tijuana airport and hop on a cheap flight to there or Cancun.

I have been to Cabo and its awesome. Tons of people from CA.. It is very safe and the food is great

See the funny thing is, around the rest of the country.... everyone else would think your that, just being from Tennessee lol. No differentiation from, The Valley, Mid- State, or West TN.

TENNESSEE PRIDE BABY!!!

I'll have to go check it out... maybe after football season. There are so many hidden gems in Mexico.
Cabo San Lucas had become more popular as of late.

I try to travel for leisure every 2 months or so.

It should be an upbeat and ecstatic game. However the distance between opposing sides of the arena, the size of the place, etc won't allow it to get too too loud. Here's a nice size comparison.

Speak for yourself. Not everyone. I live here and work here. Only have for 3 years but staying. Disagree with you completely. So do most if not all the other surgeons and people I work with that live here and are from all kinds of places around the country. Lived in Knox, Memphis, Austin TX, and Lexington KY before. Bristol is fine and there a ton of people that would prefer to live somewhere like here. In fact, there is a reason this is one of the fastest growing areas in the country for population and it's not just the lack of income tax. A lot of people don't like larger cities like San Diego, even if it has some beautiful areas around, and LittleVol was just talking about how awesome this area of the country is. Let him have his say.

To each their own. Don't corner or disparage people like me that love it here though
