The Atlanta Braves

I told a GA fan today that they’d beat us, but I don’t care how good your defense is, we will make you bust in the secondary at least once or twice and be in the game longer than you want us to be.
Basically. I told a guy i work with on Friday, that we might not win, but im not sure its going to be the 30 point blowout everyone will predict.
He at first was like really, dont do that to yourself. Then he was like, if that happens, ill remember where I heard it first.

Got absolutely soaked at the UDub game. Washington fans are way too kind. If Oregon fans acted the way they did tonight in Neyland, there’d be some tussling going on. We had no business winning that game and still did. No pass rush, barely had the ball, allowed too many arm tackles and dumb mistakes on D and still won. That’s a gutsy win and a good sign for the future.

7-5 with a fun bowl win to get to 8 wins? Not sure JH could have scripted year 1 much better. Hard not to be encouraged
I know football isn’t as simple as changing one play and everything else stays the same BUT… two bad spots and/or Hooker starting from jump street and it’s a 9 win regular season?

Could have easily beaten Pitt and OM
Especially Pitt - that's a win with Hooker as QB. Outside of Pickett, I honestly don't think they are all that good of a team.

Oh well - I see why Heup wanted to start Milton, but at least he had the sense to move off of him (helped by injury). OM was definitely a winnable game but ultimately you cannot let a QB run for almost 200 yards, especially for all those conversions on 3rd down, and think you should have won.

This is the first Tennessee team that has overachieved in I don't know how long - maybe since one of the early Fulmer teams.

Joe Milton starting is still a mystery lol but yup. A few breaks from 9 wins

Roster is super thin too. Hasn’t made excuses, just goes out there and puts up points
Roster is laughably thin at a variety of positions, and he has guys who are brand new to the program excelling at multiple positions and contributing. I don't care by how many we lose to Georgia - Heupel has done an awesome job this year and has made 2+2 equal about 10 with this team.

I get it - Milton has freakish athleticism (even though he doesn't show it during games), great size, and he throws the ball 70 yards with the flick of a wrist. Both were new to Heupel and new to the program, so I see why Milton looked better in practice.

At least unlike a certain previous coach, Heupel had the sense to move off of Milton once he got hurt/started showing he didn't have it.

I don’t have many a bad word to say about JH, what he’s doing so far is pretty miraculous but Milton starting the season and not challenging the spot in the Pitt game will never be explainable to me.
