The Atlanta Braves

Ozuna isn’t worth the bad press after winning the World Series. We don’t need him. Eating that contract sucks but it’s whatever. We got the World Series and got 8 playoff games worth of revenue this year.

I gotta give it up to AA. He hasn’t been perfect. And he definitely hoarded prospects too much but man what a great job he did this year. TDA’s original two year deal was a steal. Will Smith earned every penny of his $40M this year. He found Matzek off the scrap heap. Chris Martin had some big innings the last 2.5 years. Believed in Riley and didn’t trade Max/Ian. Chuck was well worth the $15M. The Acuna /Albies deals give us so much flexibility the next 5-6 years. Maybe had the best trade deadline in baseball history. And then really did a good job convincing Snit to trust the numbers without forcing it over his head.

Great job.

Can I make a Freddie post without you judging me? Because I do love Freddie even if the line drive over short approach drives me crazy sometimes (or his everyday philosophy).

Nobody deserves a World Series ring like him. Like you said, he watched all his buddies get traded after ownership lied to him about competing when he signed that big contract. I thought for sure we would trade him. I remember specifically the Astros and Red Sox tried hard to go after him. And he never whined or complained. Dude kept his head up despite the fact he had Adonis Garcia hitting behind him for a whole ass year. Just played ball and kept getting better year after year. Played his guts out in 2019 when he shouldn’t have been out there.

So happy for him. Such a good dude. Watched that E:60 piece on him and cried seeing what he had to go through. You can tell he’s an amazing father and husband. Glad the captain got his ring and solidified him getting his number retired. Hope he gets a 10 year contract with us.

Got rid of Ender and Tomlin!

I’d have to look but I’m not sure there’s been another team that won the World Series without their best player.

Nothing will ever replace the worst-to-first '91 Braves in my heart, but this has to be the most fun team we've ever had. The bats were just so alive this postseason. It really felt like we had a murderer's row. Even the bottom of the order was jacking HR's. I've never felt so confident watching Atlanta hit.

Damn how old are you?

I was 7. Pretty sure I didn’t blink for 7 nights that fall.

God bless my parents for moving across the country and immediately adopting one of the worst franchises as their own. I inherited the Braves and slid right into one of the greatest runs in sports history, and I never had to pay my dues. It was kind of the same thing with the Vols, too. I got in right before our best run since Neyland.
