The Atlanta Braves

GENTLEMEN

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU MOTHERFSCKERS

It's a beautiful night and I hope you are all as beautiful right now as I am!

1995 was a long long time ago so it's hard to compare, but I'm pretty sure that tonight is the best night in my 40 frigging years of watching this damn team. Back then what I felt was mostly relief after the failures of 91 and 92 and 93. This is not relief; this is sheer ass joy after watching a sub-.500 team full of misfits and castoffs roar back and take the championship away from the so-called better teams, just like the Braves lost over and over and over to crappier teams back in the old days. This year it was our turn to be spoiler and by god we deserve it.

Cheers!!

Hell. Yes.

In exchange for acquiring Soler, his hot and cold streaks, and all the risk they both entail, the Braves sent Kasey Kalich. The 127th overall pick in the 2019 MLB draft, Kalich has struck out nearly 25% of batters in High-A ball as a reliever. KK’s slider is a hard-breaking weapon that he pairs with a mid-to-upper 90s fastball. But Kalich is the definition of a lottery ticket: he is a reliever only—meaning limited upside—and he has some command issues that have resulted in high walk totals.

Words cannot express just how thrilled I am for Atlanta and the Braves! I have never been happy to be so wrong in my life. Earlier in the season I called the Braves the "Notre Dame" of the MLB. They look like world beaters in the regular season and then wilt in the post-season. I really thought after losing game 5 in Atlanta, they were going to have a hard time winning one in Houston. However this team is special! The MVP of this team honestly is the front office! The moves they made to build this team back in August were genius! And how fitting that Freeman hit that dinger at the end and then catch the throw to get the last out. I really hope Atlanta pays this man and keeps him so he can finish his career out in Atlanta.

Anyone know when the players union and owners start CBA negotiations? It wil play a big part in whom and when we sign as our outfielders. Freddie’s deal probably won’t be affected, but any but mid to short term deals and arbitration deals may have to wait until the CBA is settled
